Chronic hypertension postpartum

Hey!
Has anyone suffered with getting their blood pressure down since giving birth? I had to have the ambulance called out as I almost had a seizure and blood pressure was 198/114.... I’ve been in hospital 4 times now... my daughter is 3 weeks old today. Just fed up and having panic attacks all the time thinking it’s going to happen again. It’s completely taken over me and my body and I really don’t feel like myself anymore :(

I didn’t have this issue with blood pressure but I did have postnatal anxiety so I know exactly where your coming from regarding the attacks and it’s so awful, you can’t even explain the feelings your going through can you? BUT it does get better it took me around 9 weeks to start feeling better and I started taking prescribed tablets to calm me down as I was rocking and all sorts, really felt like I started to lose it! But you just need to remember that you are ok, those 4 times you were in hospital you came out and you were ok weren’t you! Keep going babe I know it’s crazy the first few weeks and you will have such crazy days, but you will have days when you think actually I’ve got this! I feel better today! You have so many hormones going round your body and you will have for weeks, just be easy on yourself and try and take some baths if you have a partner that can help you have a 10 min break xxx

Hello, I checked my bp 3 weeks postpartum and bp was 160/100+. Was put on magnesium for 24hour and now on bp medication. My anxiety was so bad being afraid that something bad was going to happen. Theres free postpartum support groups on supportgroupcentral.com. This has been helping me along with my private therapist. I hope you feel better soon. I understand how you’re feeling.

I had similar blood pressure postpartum and it was postpartum preeclampsia that I took medication for for 4 months. Have you been checked for preeclampsia?

I’ve had a&e trips multiple times from mine going 180/120 irs awful I know how you feel sometimes it’s me panicking and making it worse. Thankfully I’m now on set tablets each day that keep it at an ok level my main worry is being too scared to have another baby as this all happened with my first and has given me a horrific outlook. If you ever need someone to relate to and talk to I’m a message away x

I just delivered a week ago and am back in the hospital with high blood presssure. I’ve been on magnesium twice now and am prescribed a high dose of two different blood pressure meds. They are planning on releasing me from the hospital today, but honestly I’m terrified. I totally understand your anxiety about it because I have it too. I was afraid the anxiety was causing my blood pressure to rise, but honestly I needed stronger meds too. Now there is a fear of “bottoming out” and getting a blood pressure that’s too low due to the meds. All the changing nurses and comments don’t help ease my anxiety. I feel like an experiment and just want to stay alive for my baby.

Hope you feel better now?? I am having the same issue. My bp was normal all through pregnancy, but after giving birth it has been sky rocketing not going down despite on labetol. Can’t sleep, having panic attack, shortness of breath I am just not my normal self. Don’t know what to do

Wdy think of this for a toddler to learn word construction?

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

Pumping advise

FTM to a 2 week old! I’m breastfeeding and then giving one formula bottle last in the evening before bed. I want to start expressing milk to give me some breathing room and also allow my partner to be more involved in feeding. I’m finding the idea of introducing pumping into my day quite overwhelming though. I don’t want to take milk away from my baby by pumping if he needs it during the day when being breastfeed.

Can anyone advise how I start pumping and when to do it? Thank you!
