DNA fragmentation

Hi Star, I haven’t been through this but I couldn’t just read your post without expressing my support. I’m so sorry you’re going through this and I can just feel the heaviness in your words. The only advice I have is to treat yourself like you would your best friend. Let yourself cry as long as you need, wrap yourself up in warm blankets and give yourself anything and everything you need to soothe yourself. I’m sure others will be along with words of wisdom more directly related to your situation, but please take heart that miracles do happen and you don’t have to walk this journey alone. Hey, sorry to hear your going through this, I totally understand the sadness and frustration :( my partner had a varicocele that was causing DNA fragmentation, due to the heat is was producing. He just had a private surgery which the Doctor recommended for DNA fragmentation & fertility and only a month later everything is cooler and I finally have hope (after over 2 years of trying). Is this something the doctor has looked into for you? cause most men don't even know they have a varicocele causing infertility and DNA fragmentation & a lot of doctors dismiss it as well!

Hey I have been through this with my husband and there are so many changes he can make to improve things. The obvious ones are cutting out alcohol, smoking, hot baths and showers and tight underwear and anything that increases heat down there like cycling. Also changing to a natural diet and using natural toiletries as chemicals can influence this. My husband made these changes plus he was told to start taking Impryl-you can buy online it’s expensive but it helped alongside the changes. After 4 months his DNA damage reduced.

We still needed IVF but it’s unclear whether that was why or some other reason to do with my eggs! I’m 10 weeks pregnant now and all good so far.

The book ‘it starts with the egg’ has a section on this so I recommend reading that if you haven’t already.

No chemicals, we have a water filter. We are redoing the test in 2.5 months. He has to take the vitamins the doctor recommended. Did you get pregnant the first round IVF?

No advice, but we just received a similar diagnosis after 6 years of trying and 4 miscarriages. A relief to know the issue but still sucks! I feel your pain! We got a result of 90%, our plan is to test again in 3 months and only have 1 day of abstinence prior to the test.

What vitamins did your dr recommend? We needed to increase to 2 x CoQ10 daily and menevit. What did they suggest to your husband?
