I combi feed my baby. Based on advice from relatives (lol) I was told when it comes to bottle feeds, especially at night feeds, just prepare them before we go to bed then reheat when needed.

My health visitor has come and advised against that due to bacteria growth. We thought this may be a reason why baby is in discomfort due to upset tummy.

To make life easier at night I’ve just gone back to breast feeding as he will cry the place down if he has to wait at night lool. If I have to make a bottle from scratch does anyone recommend at cooling device I can use?

Milk intake

Hello
My 8 month old is now well established on 3 meals a day but I am struggling to drop her milk.
I find if I drop a bottle down to 4 in the day she wakes at night. She also gets hangry in the day 😂 she has 9oz. Sometimes she doesn’t always finish them, 1-2 a day but most of the time she does.
When I got her weighed they said she was having too much formula but she isn’t over weight and is tracking her percentile lovely.
She has just learned to stand and is now walking round furniture holding on. She is also a very active baby constantly on the move

Will her milk just drop naturally? Not sure what to do

I try and get her weighed every month but the drop in clinics are when she has her first nap of the day 🙈

Combi Feeding

Mums who combi feed, how many feeds do you do formula in a day, and how much are your little ones drinking in each feed? Just curious.

I do 3 feeds formula, and she has a max of 4 ounce in one go. Very occasionally 5 maybe. She’s 19 weeks.

Transition formula to cows milk

Hey Mummies !! Any tips on how to wean my little one of formula during night ? He won’t take any milk during the day but at night he wakes up twice and if he doesn’t have milk is going crazy crying like is the end of the world …😭 . I need to transition him to cows milk as 13 months already but not sure what to do with the bottles at night … with my first one I think I just gave him some water and was fine but the second one is more stubborn lol

How much milk?

How much milk are your 1yos having? We’re currently doing 1x 10oz in the morning and 1x 10oz at bedtime but LO isn’t always finishing the morning one and sometimes doesn’t want it at all. She’s at nursery full time so not sure if to just send one in with her instead of doing it first thing or maybe it’s time to stop it altogether. She has breakfast at nursery as soon as she gets there so I’m not too concerned about her being hungry. Just want her to have all the right nutrients etc

Would you go with mam bottles or tommee tippee?
I exclusively breast fed my first and he refused all bottles so im clueless. There are to many options and im feeling overwhelmed.

What bottle should I choose and why?

Dr Brown's bottles...or any bottles, how to sterilise?

I have Mam bottles and they self sterilise in microwave but I am changing bottle type and have no idea how to sterilise?! I want to avoid buying a super expensive steriliser

Moving off formula at 12 months

Can anyone offer advice of how to move from formula to cows milk at 12 months please?
Do you have to wean them over to the cows milk? If so, when, as the guidance is only formula until 12 months and cows milk only in food until that point.
Or do you just give cows milk one day and never give formula again?
Finding it a bit of a mine field! What if she won’t drink the cows milk!

Refusing bottle

EBF babies, how are you getting them to take a bottle? Any weird or wonderful ways that worked??

He was taking a bottle from 5-10 weeks but then refused. He’s now 17 weeks.

We’ve tried….

Different teats / flows
Partner feeding with me out of the house
Swapping to bottle mid feed on boob
Offering bottle first thing or after a big nap when most hungry
Freshly pumped milk

Help… I’ll do anything at this point 🙃🤣

Bottle weaning

Hi Mamas!

Anyone have any tips or tricks for bottle weaning? My little dude is having none of it. We started mixing his formula with milk in a bottle and he takes it perfectly fine. He loves drinking water out of his straw cup, no issue.
BUT. When I put the milk/formula mix in the straw cup he wants none of it.
Any suggestions would be wonderful!
