What is classed as ‘advanced’

Any ideas what would be classed as advanced for September 2023 babies? I’ve been told by nursery my daughter is very advanced with talking and counting, but I’m unsure how advanced. There’s lots she can’t do, like she has no clue on colours, but she can put sentences together etc (so far up to 7 words) My eldes...

2 year old hitting

Y’all my patience has never been so thin. I cannot get my son to stop hitting my husband and I. I’ve tried everything the internet has said and he still flat out slaps us in the face all the time. I’ve tried narrowing it down to see if we’re doing something at that time but no. It’s embarrassing and extremely frustr...

Baby not giggling

My nearly 16 week old isn’t giggling yet, should I be worried? We get plenty of smiles and it’s like sometimes he tries to laugh but no definite laugh yet.

Not listening about safety

My son who is 3 has recently decided to completely ignore me regarding safety around roads. He used to walk so nicely holding my hand etc but the last few weeks he bolts off, I’ve had to chase him down in car parks and wrestle him into the car, had to pick him up when walking home from pre school etc. he just doesn’...

Toddler Tantrums

Hey mommas! I’m in some desperate need of advice. My son is almost 1.5 years old, and I’m struggling with tantrums. He can be very physical with his tantrums. For example, biting, hitting, throwing things, scratching, pulling hair, etc. I’ve tried redirecting and trying to “explain” why we don’t do those things,...

Help 😩

How do I get my almost 5 year old to stop sucking his toe. He likes to suck his big toe. I tell him it's gross and to stop and that when he starts school he can't do that and won't make friends. He thinks it's funny and the other day sucked his brothers toes. Please, how do I get him to stop!?? 😭

Shrieking

My sweet 5 month old has found her voice- and it involves a lot of loud shrieking. I’m glad she is figuring out how to use her voice to express her needs, but I am noise sensitive and ommgggg, it super overstimulates me throughout the day. Sometimes she shrieks cause she’s frustrated cause she wants to crawl and can...

Cerebral palsy? How did you now?

Anyone with a baby with cerebral palsy? I’m concerned one of my twins may have it. Idk her milestones are just so late or barely there. She’s 14 months, only grunts or whines to communicate, when her twin sister is already making out a few words clearly. She isn’t trying to walk, she does stand up against a couch an...

Baby crawling

Hi mamas, how’d you get or how’d you help your baby to crawl? My son is 5 months, turning 6 months in 3 days and he hasn’t started crawling or even rolling over because he hates being on his stomach/hates tummy time and I don’t know what to do.

Insensitive or overthinking?

Hi! My bestfriend has a son and our babies were born a few days apart. My daughter is very advanced in speech and says over 50+ words, sings songs, counts etc and her son is speech delayed and isn’t saying much(not even mamma/dadda). She has mentioned that she is worried and I’ve reassured her that all kids advance ...

Making strange body movements

My son is nearly 2 and for a few months he has been making some strange movements with his body - I’m not sure if this is something autistic children/toddlers do or if it’s something else. He will sometimes hunch his shoulders up and cock his head back while looking at himself in the mirror or he’ll run around in t...

Toddler having a ‘NO’ morning with big emotions 😩

How does everyone manage mood swings/big negative emotions/‘NO/NOT THAT’ kind of days? Think my LG is getting confused between what she wants and doesn’t want as well. I think it’s getting to the point where I should change up how this behaviour is managed because she can understand more of what I’m saying. Saying ...

Concerned about daughters development being looked after by grandma

My MIL is watching my daughter now that I’m back at work and I am eternally grateful to her as she isn’t charging us and watches her 5 days a week 7-3/9-5. I am concerned though as most of the day miss rachel is on and my daughter is left to watch because my mother in law isn’t very well and she struggles to be acti...
