8 Celebrity Mamas Who Nicknamed Their Baby Peanut

When it comes to growing your family, one of your main priorities - aside from figuring out how to get rid of morning sickness and stocking up on diapers - is figuring out a name for your little one.

And no, we don’t just mean their actual name. We mean a cute (and sometimes quirky) moniker - like bean, pickle, or peanut.

Obviously, we're biased, since it's our name. But do you know why? Well, our CEO and Founder, Michelle Kennedy, nicknamed her son peanut after being told he was the size of one during her pregnancy. And the rest is history!

But it turns out, a lot of celebrity mamas are using it too.

1. Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik welcomed their baby girl into the world back in September 2020, and are yet to reveal her name. Recently, in a throwback snap of her pregnancy, Gigi referred to her as her little peanut - too cute!

2. Khloe Kardashian

Mama-of-one Khloe Kardashian tweeted back in 2018 - one month after her daughter True was born - that she was ‘so thankful for her sweet peanut’. Heart = melted.

3. Gemma Atkinson

Peanut isn’t just popular stateside, either, as English actress and radio presenter Gemma Atkinson has proved. Sharing the first ever video of her newborn daughter Mia in 2019, she affectionately captioned it ‘little blue eyed peanut’ - and just look at that onesie!

4. Adele

It’s a well-known fact that Adele likes to keep her private life, well, private. So when it came to announcing her son’s name way back in 2013, she chose to keep it under wraps and instead referred to him by his nickname, little peanut. Pretty cool if you ask us.

Mama-of-two Jenna Dewan and her partner Steve Kazee shared some insight into how they picked their son’s name (Callum), but not without mentioning our favorite nickname. “We’ve had lots of questions about the name we chose for the little peanut so figured we would share a few things,” they wrote on Instagram Stories.

The Handmaid’s Tale star, Yvonne Strahovski, announced the birth of her son on Instagram alongside a sweet note that read “Welcome to the world Peanut, your parents love you beyond measure and you’re already my little dreamboat. My heart has been stolen!”. Ours too, mama.

Two months after giving birth to her second son, Jax, Kristin Cavallari shared the first adorable snap of him, writing ‘here is my precious little peanut’. This was way back in 2014, proving that peanut is a nickname that never goes out of style.

Last but certainly not least, Australian model and TV star Monika Radulovic showed she was a fan of the nickname when she announced her pregnancy last year. The caption read 'just the 3 of us! We couldn’t keep our little peanut a secret any longer!’. Aww!
