Pregnancy scans

Have you been told it’s a boy, but the baby’s been born a girl? Does this ever happen?

We were told our baby is a boy at the 20 week scan. I know it happens that boys are mistaken for girls early on - but has it ever happened the other way around?

Could the penis seen at 20 weeks end up being something else? Or is this basically impossible at this stage? Have you ended up giving birth to a girl after certain boy scans?

Happy either way, but would love to know if there is a possibility that it's a mistake. Thankyou!

Extreme Gender Disappointment

I was so set in the mindframe that I was having a boy and we got the results back from the genetics test kit that had the gender as a side result. And when I was told it was a girl I was totally devastated and still am. Everything that is said to me to try to make me feel better just ends up making me feel worse about myself for being so disappointed. It's causing a rift in my relationship and I've already been struggling with depression and that's getting worse. I feel like the worst person for being so hung up on the gender but I can't help it

Sneak peek disapointment

I done a sneak peek lancet test and got a boy result. I didn’t realise how upset I would be.

For context I’ve already got an amazing little boy and always wanted one of each and this is our last baby.

I can’t shake the sadness - I really hope it passes I feel guilty for feeling like this. 😣

Gutted and guilty

I am pregnant with my third and final baby, and I've just found out it's boy number 3. I love my two boys but I have this feeling of great loss that I'm having another, I was desperate for a girl. I really want a chance at having a mother daughter relationship which now I will never have.

But then I feel guilty, I'm pregnant with a healthy baby what more could I possibly want? And who knows in 15 years time one or more of the boys could identify as a toaster or a dog and really the bits that they are born with really doesn't mean anything anymore, but I just can't help longing for a girl. I've been crying constantly about it and then the sheer guilt that I have for feeling this way

my first pregnancy and we won’t be having another, and we have just found out we are having a boy! I feel extremely guilty for being upset 😢 I always dreamt of a girl and now I will never have the mother daughter relationship I hoped for

The bond me and my mum have now is so special, we speak daily and talk about everything, I worry I won’t know how to handle a boy or enjoy it
