Has anyone else’s 5 year old got an awful attitude and terrible tantrums that are out of control going on at the moment? It’s been going on for a few months now, and no matter what we say or do he gets worse. Sometimes he’s hurtful with what he says and other times he’s just screaming for no reason. He’s a lovely boy at heart and he wouldn’t hurt a fly but I hate telling him off constantly, he is my first and the one that made me a mum, I didn’t think I’d be this mum always shouting at him but he leaves me no choice, it seems to be the only way of getting through to him. I literally cry myself to sleep some nights because he has been too much for me to handle.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what might help or could be the cause? I’m at a loose end and need some intervention.

Please no judging, I’m just a tired mum asking for advice who is feeling very down about the whole situation right now 🫶😢

My son has been potty trained from about 2 but we still use pull ups at night. I don’t feel we’ve gone a significant time with no accidents in the day and the pull ups are still fairly full in the morning. We do get him to go before end and first thing in the morning. I’m worried this is a problem especially with starting school this year. He’s in nursery now and rarely has accidents when he’s there which makes me worry I’m doing something wrong. Does anyone have any advice or at a similar stage?

My 5 year old has a kindle fire with access to his Disney account audio books and a few games on mostly drawing and leaning and hot wheels and Minecraft but also has his 2 school apps his dad refuses to let him take his tablet to his house point blank says I didn’t have one as a kid and it rots your brain , I’m always keeping an eye on what he’s watching and limit his game and video time but give him pretty much unlimited access to his school apps because he’s never on them for very long what’s everyone’s opinions on tablets and screen time . We don’t use them at bed time or meals and barley have the tvs on somtimes we all play Xbox together but honestly I don’t see the big issue he’s making am I wrong.

He also said he can’t collect him for the weekend at normal time my son was upset so he said well I can collect you but you will have to sit in the work office with nothing to do so I said you can take your tablet and do your maths homework , his dad then got annoyed and said it’s stupid the school must be supplying him with paper copies of homework what’s all this shit on screens

What is everyone’s after school routine? I feel constantly lost in times of the afternoon/early evening and don’t seem to have a routine to go by. I try to have a consistent bedtime that I really try to stick to but everything else is just ‘when it happens’ kinda thing. But I would really like to stick to a semi-decent routine that my kids can get used to as well. For reference, as well as my four (nearly five year old) I have a 3 year old at preschool and an almost 1 year old that I have to work around because his bedtime is slightly different to the older two. How much of your day is spent playing with your child!? I really don’t know what the ‘norm’ is and I feel so guilty saying no but I really don’t enjoy playing all day 😂 my little girl is almost 5 would love to hear your thoughts!?!
