Breastfeeding with teething baby

Hi, so my baby is 6 months almost 7 months old and he’s just started teething. He’s already got his two bottom there cut through but he’s started to bite down on my nipple when feeding, which is making feeding very difficult and painful. I wondered if there were any other mums on here who have exclusively breastfed babies who are going through the same thing? If so did your baby stop biting you? It’s so bad that he’s actually cut skin/made me bleed around my nipple and I don’t know what to do… I’ve tried to express and then bottle feed him but he doesn’t really take to the bottle and prefers my breast. I don’t want to give up breastfeeding but I don’t know how much more I can take with him tugging and biting down because it’s really hard and painful. Any advice would be super beneficial! Thanks mamas x

Bottle to breast?

My baby boy is 4 weeks old today, and due to several reasons, including low milk supply, he has mainly been bottle-fed until now. As a result, he has developed a preference for the bottle and now refuses to latch and breastfeed. I really want to transition from bottles to breastfeeding, but every time I offer the breast, he hysterically screams and turns away.

Can anyone please recommend tips on how to make this transition?

Breastfeeding is a Journey

In the beginning, I stressed so much about my milk supply—pumping, tracking ounces, and worrying if I was making “enough.” But I’ve come to realize that my worth as a mom isn’t measured in ounces.

I may be a low supplier, or maybe just an enougher, but what truly matters is that my baby is fed, growing, and happy. He gets what he needs from me, and we supplement with formula as needed. And that’s okay.

Letting go of the pressure has been freeing. Every drop I provide is a gift, and whether it’s breast milk, formula, or a mix of both, my baby is loved, nourished, and thriving.

To any other moms on this journey—you’re doing amazing, no matter how you feed your baby!

Rant because I need people who understand 😭

I have just started to try and exclusively breastfeed my son of 12 weeks. He just started successfully latching within the last week or so. I breastfeed while we’re at home and pump at work. Last night at about 12:30 he woke up hungry, I attempted to breastfeed him for about 30 minutes, he ate for 15 and spent the rest of the time playing with my nipple. I have in and gave him a bottle of formula. While feeding him I just sat there and cried. This is probably going to be my only baby I give birth to and my only breastfeeding journey. And I feel like I’m failing. I barely pump 4 oz a day at work, which isn’t enough to send to daycare for him. It takes me weeks to build up a decent amount. I pump every 2-3 hours. I’ve tried the power pumping. Ive tried pumping after nursing and only get drops. I’ve been trying the supplements. I’ve been hydrated. I eat as much as my body allows me to. I sleep as much as I can. I stay as stress free as I can. I’ve tried different foods. My flange sizes are correct and my pump parts get changed regularly. Nothing works to get my supply up. Why has my body failed me?

Low milk supply

I have low milk supply, about 50-60 ml combined when I pump. I need to supplement my 9 weeks old baby with formula as he easily takes 120-150 per feed. I have tried pumping between sessions when he sleeps. But supply is not increasing beyond this. I feel something is wrong with me that my supply won’t increase. Any tips how to increase supply.
