Endometriosis. What is it?

• Endometriosis occurs when bits of the tissue that lines the uterus (endometrium) grow on other pelvic organs, such as the ovaries or fallopian tubes. Outside the uterus, endometrial tissue thickens and bleeds, just as the normal endometrium does during the menstrual cycle.

never ending cramps?

has anyone else had terrible cramps during pregnancy? i’m 15 weeks ftm, and ive been to the hospital 3 times already (as per husband’s request) due to constant cramps in my lower abdomen, like where the uterus is. the doctors told me all 3 times that i was fine and that it’s just normal pain from endometriosis and that it would be like that during my pregnancy. yet, everytime i feel it get worse, i cant help but think “something is wrong” but yet there’s no bleeding and no sign anything is actually wrong except the cramps. am i overreacting? did anyone else experience this? and what do you suggest to do about it/to lessen the pain?

Stage 4 endo

I was diagnosed December 2025 with stage 4 deep infiltrating endo. An MRI revealed deposits throughout the left side of my pelvis and endometrial adhesions between my womb, bowel and bladder, they’re all stuck together. I was given an urgent referral and put on a waiting list. I haven’t heard anything since other than a text confirming they’d received the referral. Any one else in a similar position? I’m in Norwich UK!

Hi all, I have 2 young children (14 month old and 2.5 year old) and am due to have laporoscopy in 2 weeks. We have family help for after luckily.. I know they have to remove tissue as my ovary is fused to my uterus now, and they’re going to see what else they can remove but I’ve never had the surgery before and just want an idea of what to expect realistically? Also, how long do I expect off work? I assumed 1-2 weeks but the dr at pre op said 4 weeks so I’m a bit confused!! Thanks xx

Pain in pregnancy

I had laparoscopic excision surgery in 2021, my symptoms were gone for a bit, and some gradually came back. I had an MRI for gastroenterology , but they said they can see endo on it.

Now I'm 10 weeks pregnant and turning over in bed, or sometimes sitting up gives me a sudden, strong stabbing pain (7/10)usually on the right side of my uterus (lower abdomen, off to the right from centre but not at my side) , occasionally on the left too. Already had the pregnancy confirmed in the right location so it's not an ectopic. Any experiences with this? Maybe adhesions ? Does it get worse, better ? My local Early Pregnancy Unit said they won't check as it's already confirmed it's not ectopic.
