Mucus Plug?

Y’all I’m freaking out of excitement and anxiousness! I’m 98% sure I just lost my musics plug or atleast a good bit of it! I’m starting to feel this pressure that I haven’t felt before which almost has me hunched over and then minor cramping nothing to amped up yet or concerning. I have my 39 week appointment tomorrow so I planned on mentioning to my doctor that I lost my mucus plug last night. But here’s the real question….when did you ladies start contracting or going into labor after losing your plug? 👀 I know every pregnancy is different but I’m super curious on what I could expect! My due date is October.25. TIA! 🎃👻🧡🖤

⚠️UPDATE:⚠️
I went into my 39 week appointment today and mentioned it to my OB he was happy to hear that I’m moving along. However he didn’t feel the need to check me beings he checked me at 38 weeks and my cervix had started thinning. He told me that losing my mucus plug could mean I could go into labor in the next 12-24 hours or even a week later. He said it doesn’t always necessarily line up with labor. But he said it definitely could mean the start of dilation and my cervix thinning out more. He said the pressure I’ve been feeling is another good sign because those amped up period cramps I’ve been feeling for a couple weeks now could be early minor contractions starting and him moving into place even more. So he went over what to do and what to expect if things do progress through the night or over the course of my 39 week stretch! He did go ahead and have me make my 40 week appointment just in the case he isn’t here by then and we need to discuss induction. So it was decided exciting to hear that and know that my body is moving in the right direction with everything I have been feeling especially as a FTM. So hopefully soon I’ll be sharing my baby boy with y’all. ♥️ However I lost the other half of my mucus plug about 10 minutes ago so I guess I’m just off to the races beings my due date is Monday! 😍 Thank y’all for all the advice and helping me out to know what is to come or to expect! 🥰

Same thing happened to me I lost my mucus plug then I started feeling pressure contractions started like that night and in the morning I was at the hospital in labor 😭

I was already in labour when I lost mine, I ended up giving birth like two days after I lost it (I had a really long labour lol)

First time mom here, do you lose your mucus plug and then your water breaks with experiencing contractions? Or how do you know you’re in actual labor.

I lost my mucus plug over a few days and then 2 days later went into labour with contraction lasting over 1min and 3 mins apart. My waters didn't break, the midwife broke them when checking cervix

I never noticed or saw mine in my first pregnancy. I assume I lost it during labour at some point! From your other comments it sounds like you could be in early or prelabour. I was always convinced that if I wasn’t sure if I was in labour then it probably wasn’t labour but actually when it came down to it, I don’t remember contractions starting and thinking ‘this is it’, it was very gradual and slow over a few days and even when my contractions were pretty consistent and getting stronger I still didn’t feel like I was in active labour and it was actually happening 😂
This time around (I’m 29 weeks), I feel like I’ve been losing my mucous plug for the last two months so it’ll be interesting to see how this labour compares. Good luck! :)

I never lost mine that I know of. I just started having contractions went to the hospital they broke my water late that night and next day I had my LG.

It’s not a sure sign of labour 😢 I lost mine 39 weeks now 40+3. But for some woman it can be the start, fingers crossed for you xx

Soooo exciting! If your pains get more intense, last longer or come multiple times an hour I'd definitely nip to be checked over hun. Eeee almost there 😍😍😍❤

I lost mine before bedtime and woke up in the early morning with contractions. You'll know. It's like strong menstrual cramps. Increasing in frequency and strength. My water was leaking but I did not have that "gush" until they broke it at the hospital. Best of luck, can't wait to hear an update!

I didn’t even know I had lost my mucus plug until I went in for my 36 week appointment, my doctor said a lot of the time it breaks apart and slowly falls out over time, most women don’t experience seeing the whole thing. I went into labor at 38+1 when my water broke (no contractions until I got to the hospital and they put me on pitocin). Definitely sounds like the pressure you’re feeling is early labor though! Good luck mama ❤️

I lost plug and gave birth literally a few hours later all my births progressed really fast tho I went from not dilated inuf to fully dilated with in a couple mins

I lost it Saturday morning and my waters broke a little after midnight

I lost mine 3 times! First time around 34 weeks, second around 36 weeks, third around 38.5 weeks. My doctor said our bodies can actually make another after losing the first if we’re not totally ready for labor. I ended up being induced at 39 weeks due to medical reasons.

I lost my gradually over about 2 weeks! Then I had a sweep and went into labour the same day so I don’t think it was an indicator of labour for me! Good luck 🤞

I lost my plug around 34 weeks and I’m 39+4 right now 🙁 doesn’t necessarily mean labor will come soon but hoping the best for you!

For me, i would go into labor within 30- 45 minutes. I have 8 kids and out of all my deliveries 4 of them mucous plug came out all at once and i went into labor and delivered quickly.

Lost mine twice and still had to be induced.

Things you wish you’d do before C-Section

I’m having my section on Sunday, and trying to write a bunch of ‘self-care’ type things I want to do before hand.
Now I’m not talking the practical things like setting up changing or feeding stations etc. I’m talking things for you like shaving your legs or dying your eyebrows 😂
I know from my last section that I’m not gunna feel my best so I want to do everything I can to feel good! I’ve got a fresh haircut already!
So what are some things you did / wish you did before your c section?

UK Mums: If you had an assigned midwife for your first pregnancy, but not your 2nd. Were you a bit disappointed?

For my first pregnancy I was blessed with having an assigned midwife that I saw every appointment. She was absolutely amazing, so I guess I was spoiled in that sense. This pregnancy, I see a different midwife every appointment and I am a bit disappointed. Before anyone jumps on my back I know it is not guaranteed to have an assigned midwife. It is just hard when each midwife answered my question differently at each appointment and it took the epilepsy clinic (was referred due to having seizures in the last) to give me the actual answer. I also keep getting told that if I have any general questions to contact MAU, but I always thought they were there for urgent matters? Anyways sorry for rambling, I am just a person that feels at ease with consistency 😭

Help!

Stuck on names, I have an Ollie already.

We were set on Hugo but I don’t like any of the shortened nicknames for Hugo and don’t feel it’s as easy to say as Ollie! What do you think?
