Hospital Bag?

Hey everyone! When is the right time to pack your hospital bag and what on earth do I need? I see so many different websites and advice on social media that it all gets very overwhelming. Thank you so much for any help.

I think I started packing mine beginning of June, I was due in July..

-Pjs
-A few pairs of large comfy black underwear
- a towel , although the hospital gave me some and I didn’t use mine
- toiletries
- snacks /drinks
- peri bottle, sanitary pads, cooling pads ect
- everything for baby

I think that’s it! You don’t need to go nuts x

I had mine packed about 35/36 weeks (no concerns around potential induction or early arrival etc).

We had 4 x bags - baby bag, my main birth bag, my other half’s bag, and a bag in the car with just extra clothes for me and baby if we needed to stay in longer than anticipated.

My best advice is keep it simple. Bag / organise anything you can so you’re not rummaging around and can easily direct people including midwives - we had baby’s clothes in sets for example so when he needed changing I could just say to the midwife “oh any bag labelled 0-1 will be fine” (had a section so couldn’t do it myself).

Biggest things I remember loving / wanting -
Extra long charging wire was a godsend.
Little electric fan.
Your fave sweets / snacks / drinks.
Birthing comb.

And take an easy to access bag - I had like a big weekend duffel type thing and just kept to that. Anything bigger and it would’ve been a trip hazard on the ward for sure x

Nasal spray might sound weird but I was absolutely choke full of the cold the second time and the hospital wouldn’t give me a nasal spray so it’s going in just in case 😂

I feel you, I have no idea where to go to find all things I’ll need… but I’m due the 13th of June and I’ll try to have the bag ready at least at 34 weeks

Would this be a red flag for a future/potential employer?

Have been communicating about interviewing for an open position via email. The hiring manager first responds at 9pm. I respond the next morning with availability for an interview. They don't respond the next day, so the following day I follow up. They don't respond that day or the next (yesterday), but then just replied at 10pm setting an interview time. J was annoyed that the communication was so delayed. And I was even more annoyed that I kept being emailed late at night. Is this a sign I don't want to work for them?

Vbac hope!

I had an emergency c-section and like most it just was the complete opposite of everything I had hoped my birthing experience would be like. I’d really to try for VBAC next time but absolutely petrified of uterine rupture… anyone else the same?

Prolapse??

I'm on my second pregnancy and had an episiotomy and stitches with my first. There was mention of an internal tear but no one gave me any details. This was 4.5 years ago and I often had sensations of feeling like there was a weight coming down and was a little lax with my pelvic floor exercises. I also used to experience a lot of discomfort with internal examinations and sometimes with intercourse but after healing up I no longer get this. Intercourse is easy now and continues to be enjoyable with no pain. I'm 28 weeks now and looked in a mirror the other day and can see a slightly smaller than pea sized lump sticking out the bottom of my vagina. Could this be a prolapse? Scar tissue? I'm not even sure who to discuss this with - is it a GP, midwife or consultant issue? Any advice would be appreciated please.

Anatomy scan

Got an anatomy scan today and a little late on the OBGYN stuff but getting caught up and my baby boy was trying to flip his feet over his head so that explains the jumps in my stomach and the pressure on my bladder!!! He also did a peace sign ✌️ sometimes during these visits it feel so surreal knowing a baby is growing inside of you!! 🤧

Mama’s told you were measuring big, how did you get your percentile down?

I was told 97 percentile at 20 week scan and 90 percentile at 28 week scan. I was hoping the first was inaccurate but it’s seems they are tracking large.

Any tips to get the percentile down safely before birth? I’m worried it’s food/exercise related. Any one get told more than once baby was tracking large but they came out a lower percentile?

Any tips appreciated🙏
