Will I need a food processor to make puréed baby food? Or can I use a regular blender? Or a kitchen stand mixer? I don’t own a food processor and don’t want to buy one if I don’t have to.
Also, what are the best foods to start them on?

I either hand mash or use my baby blender.
Started him off on mashed banana
Then mashed yam and applause (mixed up to make the yam softer)

Blender . Start with sweet potatoes, green beans etc. if you start with fruits your baby will develop a sweet tooth. I started my baby on sweet potatoes. And her first food ever was rice formula and banana blended up

Rice cereal is void of nutritional value. I highly recommend staying away from it and looking up evidence based research on why you should refrain from introducing it into your child’s diet.
You don’t need a food processor, but have you considered baby-led weaning? Def look on Pinterest! So much less hassle than worrying about separate meals and it can benefit fine motor skills greatly.

I have a silicone steamer basket that I put in a big pot when I need to steam foods to make them soft before blending. Otherwise, I throw food right in the blender. I have silicone ice cube trays that I use for storage. Both of my kids alternated fruit and veggies and neither developed an aversion to veggies.
I also was interested in baby led weaning with my second, but after researching came to the conclusion that while it may be more convenient, there aren’t any nutritional reasons for doing it. I was hoping it would help my little develop a better diet that continues through toddlerhood+ but research didn’t support that so I’m doing purées to start.
I started my 6 month old on banana because that’s what we had on hand. He’s also had sweet potatoes and likes them both 🙂
