Blighted ovum?

I was wondering if anyone else has been told they have a blighted ovum at 6 weeks but was misdiagnosed? I’m clutching at straws here 😢

My second miscarriage was a blighted ovum, usually it is to do with the measurement of the sac that means it is diagnosed and they aren’t able to see any formation of the cells for the baby.

I have ever known one person who was misdiagnosed but they had a further check at 7 weeks to double check, which they have to do anyway.

Mine was identified at 7 weeks and my sac was showing at a growth of 7-8 week with nothing inside it x

I had this, both scans showed nothing in the sac so I had basically written off this pregnancy as a miscarriage. But I went back a couple weeks later expecting more bad news and they could see a baby and heartbeat! I couldn't believe it 😊 It must have just been way too early before. Fingers crossed for you 🤞 xx

Hi, I'm sorry you're experiencing this. My first miscarriage was a blighted ovum but I didn't have any early private scans and so I didn't find out until we went for our 12 week scan xx

Hey ☺️ I know this limbo is horrible, I was in a similar situation, went for an early private scan as I had no idea of dates and there was nothing to see, she dated me 4 weeks, i then went back 2 weeks later at 6 weeks and there was a gestational sac but nothing in it, I had a bleed the week later and when I went in for that scan there was a yolk sac and she said she could see the fetal pole but no heartbeat, week later at 8 weeks we have a heartbeat!! The whole time everyone who scanned me basically told me it’s not a viable pregnancy until the last one, always be hopeful until there’s a reason infront of you not to be ❤️xxx

Hiya just thought I would jump on here and share my experience. I suffered a MMC with a blighted ovum last March. I had just felt like something wasn’t right around 5/6 weeks as I had the most agonising back pain like had me doubled over but no bleeding or anything else. The hospital finally agreed to scan me and they said they could see a fetal pole but would have to wait until 12 weeks basically to see what would happen. I then paid for a private scan the following week and they said they could see a sac but nothing else. My sac was the right size but that was it. So they referred me to my EPU who scanned me a week later and said my sac had continued to grow as expected but still nothing. It was devastating and I can’t imagine how I would have felt if I had waited until 12 weeks. Hopefully they will rescan you again in a week or so and everything will be all where it should be 🤞🏻 I’m terrified as I am now 6+2 I think and I had the same backache last week 😩

I had blighted ovum two years ago, it was pretty traumatic, as we were booked in for an early scan privately and while all other couples celebrated, we were left heart broken. In weeks that followed I had several scans with EPU, which unfortunately confirmed the same. I did have a loss of symptoms, which I noticed, for example my breasts were no longer aching. Also, they took several blood tests which confirmed my hormone levels were no longer increasing. It will take some weeks one way or the other. But I agree with some other comments, it’s better to find this out sooner rather than later.

I had a blighted ovum. Severe sickness was on verge of death. There was a sack but nothing in it, a few days later I had MC

It’s crazy how common it actually is. When I had mine last year I was led to believe it was quite uncommon but it’s quite comforting (in some odd way) that it isn’t as uncommon that they make it out to be. It often doesn’t getting treated the same as a ‘full’ MC as there isn’t loads of pain and bleeding and makes you feel like your concerns and stuff are invalid.

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
