Has anyone checked their own cervix for dilation or considered doing it?
I don't want a sweep or VE's in labour but I would be curious to see where I'm currently at, having already had one vaginal birth.

I don't think you can reach that far inside unless your arm is a lot longer than mine 🤣
That said once baby is nearly out (second phase of labor) I could feel the head of my daughters with my hand/finger but at that point they were a good part of the way out and it was more for me to have a sense of progress during the push phase.

Yes apprehensively and carefully, no idea what I’m meant to be feeling though really so not much point!

This was asked in my ante-natal group. Our midwife said that she's had other midwife friends who were pregnant do this and were still unable to tell (and they have a lot of experience), so it is unlikely we'd know what we were feeling even if we did reach our cervix.
