Really sudden change in fetal movement. Trying not to panic (almost 24 weeks)

Context:
So I've been sleeping really bad, super tight upper back and typical hip pain, up every 3 hours to pee. Makes me concerned about how this is supposed to be my most energetic trimester because I'm so tired all the time. So I decided to try to sleep in my recliner chair to see how I feel.

My baby has been kicking the shit out of me since week 19, so I've been used to strong and consistent movement. It's always been very forward and downward like into my bladder. It hasn't changed spots at all.

My last appointment my doctor spoke about getting enough iron and it made me realize my prenatal vitamins didn't have iron! so I ordered Centrum prenatal vitamins and it has more minerals than the vitamins I was taking before.
So I was excited to finally get them so I took them for the first time last night after dinner. Then I realized I might have already taken my other Vitamins in the morning. I looked it up and it shouldn't be the end of the world...

So basically in the last 24 hours. I took a different vitamin, and slept "on my back" on an incline (at least 20°) I felt fine, slept really well actually until I had to pee, but then I couldn't fall back asleep and was feeling really hot. So I went back to my bed for the rest of the night, still really warm so I didn't have any blankets on me ( my husband had more blankets on him than normal and told me this morning he was extra cold last night....

And since walking up I haven't been feeling nearly as many kicks and movements as I normally do.
When I didn't wake up to kicks this morning I literally cried feeling so guilty thinking the worse. I wasn't even hungry this morning, which is a first (usually I'm starving and sometimes even have an oatmeal cookie in the middle of the night after going pee just so my stomach stops hurting so I can sleep again.) So anyways, no movement after breakfast, which again, is not normal thus far.

My head is spinning. My husband has tried to reassure me that maybe the iron has just really helped me and maybe the baby is more " chill " now. Which I hope is the case, I've read about fetal patterns changing, it just seems all so sudden, and I don't like the timing of it all.

I finished lunch now and I've started feeling some movement again, it's calmed me down.
This is the first time I've felt a difference in her movement since her first kicks weeks ago, and it was a pretty significant change in my opinion.

(My placenta is posterior low lying, could she have just been kicking the placenta since I "laid on my back" for longer than normal and I haven't been able to feel it until she rolled over after lunch?)
Does anyone have anything to add to this? anything about fetal movement patterns changing?

If you’re concerned I would ring your maternity unit and they will put you on the monitor x

I had a similar change in my movements at that stage of my pregnancy, it went from all the time to a lot less, I was seen at the hospital but all they do is listen to baby’s heart beat, so it doesn’t give you much reassurance as to why things have changed, although I’d always recommend calling the hospital! But I was told babys don’t have an established pattern until 28-30 weeks, which annoyed me as I, like you, had gotten used to his movements, but I was reassured baby was still finding his pattern xx

If you’ve started feeling regular movement now, then probably wouldn’t worry too much. She may have just been quiet or kicking a different position, I personally didn’t get a regular pattern until after 24 weeks.. however, if you are concerned then contact your midwife because there is no harm, better safe than sorry xx

I would always go and get checked out. Call the maternity triage at your hospital. There’s nothing to lose. If the baby is fine then you’ll have the reassurance. I went in to triage at 3am during my first pregnancy. The baby was totally fine and the staff were lovely and very supportive and glad that i came to be checked.

My baby’s movements changed around 29 weeks as she’s just so cramped up in there,
I made sure I got it checked even if it was nothing as it could be something serious. Always trust your gut, I would rather know if something was wrong and got it seen to in time than leave it and not know, they always say to get any change checked! I would advise going to get it checked out, could be absolutely nothing but it would definitely take away your anxieties x

Always ring the midwife if you are concerned. You can drink a glass of ice cold water (give the baby a little shock) and lay down on your side to encourage movement.

Babies wiggle around a lot and it could be that they’ve moved to a position where you don’t feel as much. Try not to worry. My first baby’s patterns changed quite a lot in the second trimester and even in the third. Especially if I was busy, I sometimes wouldn’t feel him the whole day until I got home. The cold water trick did usually help though!

I’d defo get checked out, you’d hate to have missed something but I’m sure it’s nothing. I’ve had some crazy late nights in my pregnancy trying to get bubba to move and ended up in triage just to realise he’s kicking 😂😅

My baby boy has such erratic movements it's literally hard to see any pattern. It's more like he's really active 2 days in a row, then chill the next 3 days. There are things I do that more than likely get him moving, like drink something really cold, eat something sweet, and lay on my side and that tends to reassure me. I've also noticed his patterns do change every month or so, which hasn't been great for my stress levels either. I know it's a super nerve wracking thing to deal with, but you are definitely not alone.

I was literally just thinking about how I haven’t felt her move as much today! I’m 26 weeks so not at the kick counts week yet but approaching. I’ll feel a few flutters just not as much as the last week. I’m not worried yet after reading all these and feeling the flutters but it’s so terrifying!

i also recently switched to a vitamin with iron in it and it was the same with me and my baby. she stopped kicking super hard for like 2 days but i still felt weaker movements. after that she kicked hard for one more day and then went back to being soft. now i get a mix of hard and soft kicks and movements, so i really doubt it's anything to worry about and they tell you not to kick count until 28 weeks anyway because of all the growing and changing that your baby, body, and uterus go through during the second trimester. if you are really worried though you can call your ob or go to L&D

I didn’t establish a strong pattern until I entered week 27/28. I’m week 29 now and she’s very consistent now than she was a month ago. I wouldn’t overthink it too much!! It’s good you started taking iron that’s very important for baby. But if you’re wanting a professional opinion please call the hospital and ask

At an appointment one time they couldn’t find a heartbeat so we did an ultrasound and it took a minute but my son was fine sometimes they just dive deep under i guess 😂. It was scary but ur doing good !

I have a wife, a sugar daddy, and a boyfriend. I’m also an escort.

In 2020 I got married to a man. By 2025, we had two kids and our youngest was about to turn 1. I was a stay at home mom, aside from the sensual massage (aka happy endings) that I did on the side. While I was pregnant with our second, I met this really old client who became my sugar daddy. He’s a lot of drama and work but it’s worth it for what I get in return. I never had sex with him until after I gave birth (with husband’s permission). But sex with him is a bit like trying to fuck a gummy worm, so I’m not sure it really even counts. He is somewhat delusional and thinks we are in a real relationship, though I make abundantly it clear that my affection for him correlates directly to how much money he spends on me. And when I say this man is obsessed with me. I mean it. He is beyond obsessed. He has framed photos of me all over his house, including a 2ft by 3ft poster of my face that he had custom printed out, and framed text message exchanges between us (whenever I text something sappy and romantic to him, its not me it’s chatgpt. I’ll copy paste these long ass messages from him and tell it to come up with some equally sappy response).

Just before my youngest turned one, my husband came out to me as transgender, and started the transition process. It was a very rough adjustment period. I grieved the marriage I thought I had. I thought we were going to get divorced for sure. I started dating other guys, which really didn’t go well and then I decided I’m never having sex for free again, EVER.
I started high end escorting, and it went so well, I’m kicking myself for not having done this sooner. I make so much more money than ever before, and I’ve been in different forms of sex work since I was 18. For logistical reasons, I decided I’d stay married. With two kids ages 2 and barely 1, it just made sense. The thought of doing it all on my own was far too overwhelming.
Eventually I came to accept that I have a wife now, even though I am a straight woman. We bought a house together. She is an amazing spouse, more empathetic and nurturing than ever before. We’ve owned this house for just slightly over a year now, and while things have been really good between us… I’m still straight. I miss the scent and strength of a man, the feel of resting my cheek against a hairy, muscular chest…
We agreed to open the marriage. It was supposed to be just a casual fling, and at first, it was. But now, I am in love with this other man. I lost all sexual attraction for my wife when she transitioned, although we continued having a sexual relationship until recently. I can no longer keep fooling myself that this is what I want. I was only open to sex with her because she really wanted to. Now we have a platonic marriage, which is what I want.
I’m not going to blow up my marriage for a boyfriend. Boyfriends come and go. I want to stay married. And I still see myself growing old with her, despite everything.
My boyfriend is 23. I’m 33. He knows I’m married, knows about the sugar daddy and my past sex work, but does not know that I currently still escort. We’re not even exclusive yet, but he said he’s not seeing anyone else. He’s hesitant to tell me to delete my tinder, for the singular reason that I am married. I love him, but I know that age gap is pretty bad. I’m taking it one day at a time. I don’t have relationship goals or a 5 year plan with him. We’re just having fun right now, in the moment. I’m not going to rearrange my life around any other person.
My wife is having facial feminization surgery next week, and I have a lot of feelings about it. I’m afraid she won’t be recognizable anymore, and it’s heartbreaking. When she heals, she’s going to start dating as well. I am happy for her, she deserves to have a boyfriend who is physically attracted to her and treats her like a princess. Couldn’t be me.
But she has said she wants to date women too, and even though I am not wanting to have a sexual/romantic relationship with her, I still don’t want her to have some other woman. Because I sacrificed so much to make room for HER, as the other woman, even allowing our children to call her “mom”, even though she never helped me when they were babies, and with our first the PPD nearly took my life. I can’t handle yet another woman encroaching on MY territory.
I thought that my wife was OK with us having a purely platonic marriage. She had told me she was. And it worked out perfectly for me, because I can’t be sexually attracted to her anymore after the transition. But last night I spent the night at my boyfriend‘s house, and when I came home in the morning, she said she wants to divorce. Because she still wants us to have that romantic/sexual element of our marriage and she can’t be with me without that.

I’m my perfect world, we would stay legally married, but live together as BFF’s. She wouldn’t be NEEDING me to prioritize and choose her. That’s why she was so pissed that I slept over at my boyfriend’s house last night and why I said I don’t want to be limited to one date with him per week. She’s no longer my sexual partner so I should be able to go out and do whatever the fuck I want, as long as I leave after we put the kids to bed and come home before they wake up.

We’re sleeping in separate rooms now. She wants me to “decide what I want”. I know exactly what I want. I’ve told her so. I don’t need more time to mull it over. I can’t force myself to want a sexual relationship with her.

Not asking for advice just getting this off my chest.

Alright screw it, here’s my Substack Substack.com/leopardseal1993 I’ll be posting unhinged true stories about my life here. And if things go south with my boyfriend and I get back on the apps…it’s gonna be a wild ride!

In need of a friend

I feel like the older I get (I’m 36) the more lonely I feel! I have 2 good friends compared to when I was in my 20s when my phone was always pinging off and now it’s dryer than nuns coochie 😂🫣 I’m a SAHM and I’m so bored of having no one to talk to xx

Raging at my OBGYN

Vent

So my OB really is making this journey a pain in the ass. First they scheduled me with a doctor who is retiring this winter and no longer takes patients--so I was rescheduled twice with my current doctor. That was two separate occasions.
I then needed approval for medication for my asthma because I was suffocating from a flare up. They never called back after 3 days and contacting the office is a bitch since AI answers calls. I was going to wait for my next appointment to get meds but I'm so unwell that I got an emergency script.

Then today I was suppose to have said appointment plus my anatomy scan. Husband takes off work for the day, excited to see his little man and ensure I'm healthy. I get a call last minute to reschedule because my doctor moved offices.

Last time I checked the doctor needs to be flexible with a patient's schedule. Not the other way around. Especially in a day and age when both parties have to work in this shit economy so making time for an appointment can be a hassle.

If they mess up again I'm switching clinics because I'm 20 weeks and I don't have the patience for all this nonsense. They screwed up 3/4 appointments so far and I've had it.

I'm already very nervous about how my baby is doing. I've only seen him once in a scan at 7 weeks and he was only a tiny bean.

My family is super excited and they're getting equally as pissed with me when it comes to the doctor's office. 🫩
