Pelvic pain

I have extreme pain with my first two which drs would tell me it’s round ligament pains.
Literally every single one brushed it off. It’s literally in my groin area.
It’s staring way early in my 3rd pregnancy. It happens after resting and the worst when I wake up! I’m unable to move from the pain and I’m wondering if there’s any advice y’all might have for me.
TIA

Hi Erika,

It’s hard to say what it might be since I can’t assess you in person, but it could also be pubic symphasis pain (where the pelvis connects in the front right under the belly), muscle/tendon pain at the groin or something bothering you in the pelvic floor.

Do you have a Physio you can see in your neighbourhood? If you are experiencing groin pain, even a regular Physio should be able to assess you and give you some relief or let you know if you should see a pelvic floor therapist.

Additionally if there is a pelvic floor therapist that you are able to go see they should be able to help as well.

Last but not least, if you can’t find anyone, you and I could do a virtual assessment and I can get a better idea of what is going on. This would be through my clinic (Cleveland clinic) but we could do it virtually (as I am in Canada).

Shoot me a private message if you want to talk more!

This sounds just like pelvic girdle pain also known as SPD (can’t remember what is stands for S? Pelvic Disorder) I had it from around 33 weeks. I’m now 4 weeks pp and still have it but not as severe.

My friend had it from very early on in pregnancy and she ended up wheelchair bound but as soon as she had her baby she could walk again! I still used a walking stick 2 weeks after but was using a Zimmer frame.

All I can suggest is keep moving, pain killers and pelvic floor exercises and if you can get a physio appt that great- ask for a stomach tubular grip (like the elastic beige/cream ones you get if you sprain your wrist) it doesn’t feel like it does anything at first but after you’ve worn it all day you can tell.

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
