Changing from Formula to full fat cows milk after 1yrs old?

Hey ladies my health visitor has advised me to switch from formula straight to full fat cows milk when my twins turn one which is in four days, she said follow-on milk is just for the companies to make money and that full fat cows milk is enough for our littles to get enough calcium etc.

I’m a little nervous as I know a couple of mothers have moved to follow-on milk so not sure what to do🤔

What do you recommend? Any advice would be highly appreciated 🤗

I personally didn't use the follow on milk with my boy for that exact reason... At about 13/14 months I gradually transitioned my little boy to full fat cow's milk. I started with the morning bottle for a few days and then when he seemed alright with the switch then the other bottles as soon as the tub of formula was done

I switched nighttime bottle first at 12mo then used up the box and switched morning bottle.

Follow on milk is exactly that a ploy . I would slowly transition over to full fat milk start ½ formula and ½ full fat mix and then slowly reduce the oz.

They should be just fine if you read ingredients of follow on milk their is barely an differences in stage 1 and follow on . At 1 years old they should be taking in enough nutrients from food and the top up of full fat milk is just that a good health top up for those bones etc x

I use big milk for my lb. When changing I did it over a week. He had 6oz so did 5 formula and 1 big milk for couple days then 4 and 2 and so on until only on milk. It worked well for us xx

thanks so much I’m going to take your advice, also the cheek of follow-on milk being £12/£14 when full fat cows milk is around £1.50 per litre & it does the exact same thing! I feel bad for parents whom are spending all that money on follow-on milk it’s nearly 7x’s the amount of cows milk! #cheekyripoff

Thanks x

Thanks to all you ladies I will do exactly that, mix the formula & Cows milk together then slowly reduce until it’s all cows milk. Thanks so much, can’t believe how much of a rip off Follow-on milk is! Glad I asked x

I just switched to full fat milk after we ran out of formula. My sons adapted very well with it

Yeah neither with my son 😂 he just guzzled it like it was his formula

You'll probably find your twins don't even need you to titrate the formula/cows milk ratio, cows milk tastes way nicer than formula so they'll probably accept it pretty quickly/well!

Your hv is correct :) we did half and half for a week then purely cows milk. Much cheaper. Follow milk is invented by formula companies to make money as they are legally allowed to advertise it.
Plus vitamins now as formula is fortified. X

We started our boy on follow on formula at 6 months. Got told not to bother with it but we had some in house so thought we would try it. His stools had become hard and he was being sick 3 hrs after feeding. Going on to the follow on was best thing we ever did , his stools were much better and stopped being sick. He turned one July 14th. We started off 5oz formula, 2oz cow's milk. Then 4oz formula and 3oz cow's milk. Then again less formula. He's now on full cow's milk. Some people just put them straight on to it. But I did half and half until fully cow's milk incase was bit rich for his tummy xx

I agree straight to milk! Follow-on milk (or toddler formula as it’s called in US) is definitely to make more money. Formula companies are just preying on mom insecurities and desires to do the best for their babies. There’s other milk alternatives too!

shower infront of children

Is it weird to shower infront of your children, or your children see you naked?
At what age should this stop?

I’m just looking at what everyone’s thoughts are as I have a 7 month old and at the moment it’s hard for me to shower without him getting upset.

We contact nap atm, otherwise I'd shower when he sleeps!

It’s easier to bring his play mat into the bathroom whilst I shower so i can at least wash, else i have to wait for my husband to arrive home at 5/6pm.

Keen to see what people's opinions are and how other people do this!

GIRL DADS TAKING DAUGHTER TO BATHROOM IN PUBLIC

If a girl dad needs to take his daughter to the bathroom in public and there are no family bathrooms … I swear video online of a dad saying he uses the women’s bathroom but always knocks and announces ‘girl dad helping my daughter go to the bathroom’ and I love that idea and mens rooms are disgusting but wanted to see everyone’s thoughts

Ebf bottle refusal

I want to introduce a bottle so my partner and mum can feed baby every so often but she hates it! Have tried breast milk and formula and am using mam bottles. She also isn’t a fan of dummies. Goal is to give her formula as I hate pumping!

First time using Milton cold water sterliser…

When the 15 mins is up do you just take them out and put them straight back together?
I know it says you can leave them in the solution until use but I don’t want to do that as I have 8 bottles to sterilise and can only fit some at a time.
I have mam bottles but my microwave isn’t tall enough to fit the bigger ones in it to sterilise them🤣 didn’t have this issue with my son as previous microwave was taller🤣

Nursery settle sessions

Anyone started their settle in sessions? Was our second session today scheduled for two hours. Dropped my boy and returned after after 1 hour 45 minutes. The nursery worker, bless her, was rocking him to sleep. They said the baby was crying for 1.5 hours. Not gonna lie that worries me a lot! How are your little ones doing? Have they settled smoothly? FTM here and a very anxious one
