Overnight feeds diaper changes.

Do you change babies diaper before or after nighttime feeds? Does it really make a difference?

I used to do it first very quickly so that as soon as they are fed they are then settled quickly and not disturbed, especially if they fall asleep mid feed

Before. Then feed. Burp, rock a bit then back to bed. Easy and simple. And if they fall asleep at the bottle, you don’t have to worry about waking them for the diaper change

Either before or inbetween

I think it's better to change it before they're fed so when they're fed, they fall asleep with no disturbance.

Depends on how upset baby is when they wake and if they are upset because their diaper is on the verge of leaking or because they are "starving." Deal with the more pressing issue first.

Just to add, We were bottle feeding and at times to help my partner would go prep his milk whilst I did the nappy quick and vis versa which saved time if we were both up.

I also remember When he was old enough to hold his bottle (can’t remember the age must of been 6 months or a bit older) we would change his nappy in our bed whilst he was propt up on a pillow and he was holding his own bottle and feeding himself, then once we finished changing him hold the bottle for him and cradle him

Before the feed so after the feed they go to sleep

I do it before I feed that way if they fall asleep while feeding I don’t have to disrupt them afterwards

Early on I'd do it as part of her midnight feedings, so feed, burp, diaper change, and another burp if necessary before going back down. But as she got older I started to change her diaper right in our bed (we've mostly bed shared since she was tiny) after she fell asleep after her feeding, it was easier on me to feed and burp her to sleep then carefully do a diaper change while she slept. But she used to poop in the middle of the night early on too, so some of the diaper changes were inevitable.

We did ours before the feed cuz she’d fall asleep right after the feed and don’t want to wake her up again

Breastfeed baby… before and after 😆

After a bath I put on his cloth night nappy and I don’t change it until we wake up in the morning- 8-8.30am. Never any leaks, we use cloth. When he was still pooping at night I would change it but if no poop I don’t change nappy here. He’s a really good night sleeper becuase of it, he’s never ever woken up at night and “partied” he always goes straight back to sleep after his feed.

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?

Hour night wakes and 5am get up

Can anyone shed some light as to why on earth my child doesn’t want to sleep??? My eyeballs are bleeding!!

Never been a good sleeper, but the problems always changing. He’s nearly 9 months old.

Beginning of the month he dropped to 2 naps. We could put him to bed at 7pm and he’d get up for the day at 6am, with multiple wake ups every 2/3 hours.

Now we put him down at 7pm, he can do a good 4/5 hour stretch, but come 1/2am he’s up every hour then getting up for the day at 5am. This then completely messes up the day because I can’t keep him awake long enough to even get to 7pm, let alone later.

He has 2 naps, roughly about 1hr10 each but it changed based on when he wakes and trying to get him to a reasonable bed time.

What could be the reason for this? 6am is fine, but 5am is not 😩😩

Our current baby bath is quite big should I try a different one? Looking for any suggestions as want her to enjoy bath time not be upset and I'm scared I'm going to make her hate it😢💗

Crying during feeding

Hey mams! My girl is 6 weeks on Monday and is having so much trouble with feeding. It doesn’t happen every feed but more often than not she will start a bottle and just start crying as if she’s in pain and she can’t take the milk. I think it’s trapped wind but I genuinely don’t know what to do it’s so pitiful to see her not be able to feed! She’s formula fed and on HiPP Organic.
Anyone else been in this position? I’m pretty sure it’s just a bit of trapped wind that she needs to fart out but can’t! If anyone has any advice I’d be very grateful as I think I may need to tape my eyelids open soon 😂
