Labor with di/di twins

I didn’t get to asking my doctor about what it would be like yet… I do feel like it will be a bit of a difference than with my singleton labor. My water didn’t break with my son so I haven’t even experienced that.
It may be a dumb question but will I have to have my water break two times since it’s two sacs? Is it complete labor all over again after I’ve pushed out baby a?😅 this is all assuming I won’t have a c section again but I’m trying to not do that.

Yep 2 sacs! Neither of mine broke on their own. They broke twin A’s in the evening and I delivered them next morning. Baby A came out, I said a brief hello and had a rest for a minute or so while they broke baby b’s water. Then I pushed him out. They were born 5 mins apart I probably pushed for under 2 mins with my son.
Hope that helps!

Hello! I had a vaginal birth with my di/di twins. Yes, they did have to break both my waters right before starting to push (and it felt so good haha, my belly went FLAT). I can't remember if they broke one and then I delivered Baby A and then they broke the second one and I delivered Baby B. However, the twins were born within 12 minutes of each other and there was no additional pain involved. It was kind of nice I got a small break in between. ;) I delivered Baby A, and was in heaven to see him. They held Baby B back while the nurse team switched out (each baby has a team!) and told me to wait to continue. Everything went so fast I think my body just paused. Within 5 minutes I got the go-ahead, contractions continued... but I was already fully dilated so it was just another (shorter) round of pushing. Baby A took about 12-18 pushes and Baby B took maybe 3.

Yes, you have 2 waters to break. After baby A was born my doctor just reached in and broke the second water herself and I went into labor again. It all went much quicker tho, baby B was born 26 minutes later.

It will all be okay! I promise you baby B is gonna come out way quicker than baby B. 😊

If you wanted an unmedicated vaginal birth, did you have one?

In my opinion there is such a pressure to have an unmedicated vaginal birth and all social media and midwives are telling you ”your body was made for this” ”try Hypnobirthing” ”just breathe baby out and it’ll be fine” when in reality birth is just not like that. I have so many friends who wanted this ideal pain free dream vaginal birth but all ended up with emergency c sections and felt like they failed/were upset when it went the way it did.

I’ve had two unmedicated vaginal births. First one was extremely traumatic and made me want an elective c section the second time but classic nhs gave me a date that was late and my baby arrived before then so ended up having another unmedicated vaginal birth. Despite the second birth being a textbook ”good” birth I still found it unbelievably painful and in no way empowering and all these other words flying around social media and what my doula used.

Is there too much pressure on women to have this magical unmedicated vaginal birth? And therefore so many mums feel upset when it doesn’t happen? Let’s not forget that c sections are now the most common births in the UK.

This is basically a rant and I’m just interested to hear people’s opinions. No right or wrong all women are amazing however they birthed their babies!

My LG is due to start nursery in 3 weeks and was wondering what essentials I will need. She hasn’t had her settling in yet due to it being closed for half term.
What do you mamas pack in the nursery bag.
She take a dummy for sleep and I know I’ll need to pack 2 due to her needed the comfort in the beginning.

Tips on dealing with episiotomy pain?

I'm 4 days pp and I can't sleep from the pain of the wound. I'm exhausted and just want to sleep! I've taken paracetamol and ibuprofen but as I'm breastfeeding I can't take anything else. I'm using ice packs but if I'm in any position other than sat up with my legs spread (heels to bum knees spread) then I'm crying in pain. What can i do. I really need to sleep. Thanks

Exhausted

I’m 9 weeks and 5 days and I am exhausted a lot of the time, I usually don’t try to take naps bc when I do I literally cannot sleep to the point I will cry from frustration. Today I am literally SOOOOOOO tired so I attempted to take a nap. Turned in my fan as usual and put on my sleeping mask. I have been tossing and turning for 2-3 hrs and have been unable to sleep although I’m really tired and now I just want to cry bc I’m so frustrated that no matter what I cannot sleep unless it’s bed time. Does any one else suffer with this ? It’s sooo overwhelming and I’m literally sick of it
