Carobel helps reflux but causing constipation

Hi Mel, my LG has also reflux and was constipated. We have been giving biogaia. It is a probiotic for babies. We find it helping. She had a few BM a day now.
I also got the brown bottles. Really like then. I got the calma medela bottle also. Not keen on that one.

Thank you for this! I’ve just started giving her optibac probiotics 2 days ago so if we see how changes with this I’ll defo give the bio Gaia a try! I’m noticing she’s bringing more wind up with the dr brown bottles is that’s an improvement but no difference with the tummy issues 🙁x

hiya 👋 I'm in the same boat. My little lad yesterday did such a hard pebble poo I felt awful BUT I gave him a drop of probiotic in his last bottle and woke up to a nappy full of normalish poop!! I'll take a photo of the one we use as it was recommended x

I know this post is old but did you find a solution? I’m in the exact same boat with my 6 week old, the carobel has helped her reflux (she’s on Neocate for CMPA) and omeprazole, but she’s also screaming out in pain when she’s not asleep because she’s trying to poo/ pass wind! She’s been in optibac for just over a week now - did you find you had to switch the biogaia?

I am about to start carobel with our Nutramigen and presume I’m about to cause more damage! Literally can not win!!!

I’ve had to take my little girl off carobel as she reacted to it and it made her worse. She’s now on gaviscon and I’m back to square one with constipation, it’s horrible isn’t it! 😞

oh no what happened to her ? Ah god I’m so nervous to try it … this is such hard work! I started on kendamil and she was loving it but her stomach wasn’t 😩

she had awful sickness and mucus watery poos! 🥺 it’s so stressful. I’ve finally found something that works for her which is 1/2 a sachet of gaviscon in every other bottle, and touch wood it’s worked perfectly. Aw we stated on Kendamil too and she absolutely loved it as well, it’s such a shame because it’s a good formula!
