Am I the only weirdo who doesn't find cervix checks painful? 🤣

I feel like whenever cervix checks are discussed, it's always about how awful they are. I find PAP smears painful, and have fainted before when my cervix got knocked during sex, but I honestly don't feel anything when my Dr checks me for dilation (I couldn't even tell when I was in labor with my first, and this time I had a few during my 2 tri bc of contractions, and I just hit 36 weeks and getting weekly checks now and am 50% effaced, 1cm dilated, woohoo!).

Just curious if I'm the only one...I won't complain 🤷‍♀️ Sending love and light to all...we're almost there!

Mine wasn't painful inside, but my doctor is a little guy so him cramming his hand against my pubic bone to reach my cervix with his short fingers was uncomfortable 🤣🤣🤣

Mine aren’t painful until a couple hours later; I think it depends on the person who does it too though. Like my doctor has hurt me with both I’ve had even though she’s gentle and the actual time during the exam I don’t even feel anything painful at all. Could be who is doing it and also our bodies. I’m super sensitive to a lot of things including emotions so I might just be a big wuss! 🤣🤣❤️

Mine was fine at first then it seemed like the Dr. couldn’t tell so she really had to get up in there and that’s when it felt uncomfortable. She’s petite as well but it was in that moment that it hurt for like a few seconds. I’m with though lol

Mine is not painful either... pap smear doesn't hurt me either... im 38 weeks and going weekly now im only 1cm dilated ...baby is in position but doctor says he still floating up there ...idk what to do to dilate more...im getting induced on my 40 weeks tho... I hope inducing doesn't mean c-section because I want a natural birth 😪

Yes I get a bit crampy afterwards, too.

I don’t find them painful either. I’ve had smear tests and IUD placements and they barely bothered me either. Both my labours were with only a little gas and air. It’s different for everyone I guess. I’m fully supportive of women being offered more pain relief for things like smears and IUD but for me it’s not necessary.

I think it depends on the ob. I never found Pap smears painful with my old ob, but my current ob seems to not be as gentle 🙄

Avatar

Nah I hardly even feel it, also wondering if that’s so strange 🤷‍♀️

They always put a freaking knuckle on my bones that's what hurts other then that, that's all it was

Claiming this energy. About to go into my appointment to have my cervix checked and for her to do a sweep as well and I am freaking out

Avatar

You must have a very gentle doctor. I normally have a high tolerance for pain but the last 2 cervix check I wanted to scream lol

The ones I had during labor with my first were not horrible but kind of painful. Other than that they're always a little uncomfortable but no big deal to me. I hear a lot of people say membrane sweeps are incredibly painful for them too and the one I had done didn't bother me at all

Avatar

Mine aren't painful, though honestly pap smears are just annoying with pressure but not painful

Avatar

Had one today , Mine was uncomfortable only but I can’t say painful. But now my butt hurts

Avatar

Pap smear is not painful to me but I had my first cervix check today and wow the Pressure I felt 🥲 I almost started crying , I can still feel it right now

Finding out gender

Has anyone found out the gender at a private scan at 14 weeks? And has this been accurate?

I found out at 17 with my first but I know a scan place that offers from 14/15 weeks and I’m impatient 😂🥲

Induction?

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?

My daughter‘s name is valentýna and I’m struggling to find other nice girl and boy names beginning with V I’ve got a few and I’ve got loads that aren’t beginning with V, but I feel like I wanna go for all vs and I also love girl and boys names that match so because my daughter’s name is valentýna I would love to call my son Valentino my husband does not agree 😃

Induction or c section?

As a last resort, would you rather be induced or have a planned c section?

Really not liking the thought of being induced from people’s experiences I’ve read!
