1st retrieval yesterday. Empty follicles ?

That may be pretty normal. I had about double the amount of follicles counted prior to retrieval compared to the number of eggs actually collected. I’d be curious to know why that happens though. Hope you’re feeling okay and able to rest!

thanks for replying. Going to ask the questions when the nurses call. Waiting to hear if any fertilised, so anxious. But recovering well. I had heard some people need double trigger or what not so maybe that helps. I dunno. Nervously waiting to hear about my 4 💜

I have low amh and a third of my follicles were empty. I asked the doctor before retrieval if it’s likely I would have more empty follicles due to my amh and he said not necessarily, just have to wait and see. Wishing you luck for those 4 💛

I’m 37 and my AMH is 0.8. My first egg freezing cycle produced 1 follicle and no egg. The 2nd cycle had 5 follicles and 1 egg after I was put on a different treatment plan.
Hope you have good quality eggs :) as that matters greatly!

I started with 12 follicles, they ended up disappearing during the stims process (not due to ovulation, just unexplained), last ultrasound showed 3 follicles, collected 4 eggs and 3 mature ones. There are many strange things happening, just wanted to share my experience 🤗

We had 3 of the 4 fertilise and then 2 make it to day 3 and the 3rd isn't out but just not developing as well so may not make it to day 5.

we only had one make it to day 5 and we transferred it but it's low grade quality so all we can do is hope.

yeah we changing protocol (not sure what yet but they just organising everything. We start stims 1st april and retrieval for 14th April). Let me know how things go for you, will they change anything for you?

I had one retrieval (3 follicles: no eggs). What did they change for your second try. My AMH was 0.48. I’m 39. Thanks
