So my dr said that one is a bad tasting one, my boy drank it but he was just a piglet 😅 I know people who put vanilla in the bottle to change the taste but please get confirmation from a health professional or speak directly to the dr and get it changed
@Aysha it’s a mild intolerance so I am considering mixing it with his normal milk but didn’t know if that was allowed 😅
@Holly oh I wish he was! He screams he’s hungry but then is refusing to drink it which I don’t blame him the smell alone is vile 🤢
I think it’s better than then not drinking any I guess 😂! I’m sure the other formulas they could change to taste just as bad so it’s worth a try before you ask to change
@Demi yeah the smell is disgusting 😂😂😂
@Demi oh yeah it stinks, my dr said I could always change the formula if my son didn’t like it so could call and ask! Says he’s full on refusing
I start thinking all babies born in oct 22 are lactose intolerant as mine is too! So weird hahahaha
I tried aptamil lactose free
I also suppose if he is not allergic to cow protein, just intolerant, try aptamil lactose free, or SMA lactose frrr
Our LO also hated Neutramigen - but we tried 15 diff formulas trying to help him with his GERD. Another option that is very similar is Similac Allimentim, our LO liked that one much better. I also tasted them both and can confirm the Similac Alimentim tastes better 😂. Our all time fav hypoallergenic formula though is the HIPP HA Combiotic! The ingredients are so good for baby and taste is also really good. We also transitioned to new formulas 1oz at a time. So if baby is getting 4oz total, do 3oz of old form and 1oz of new and each day add another oz of new form. We also had to use vanilla extract later on when we tried some other more intense options (amino acid… which legitimately taste like batteries) our HP suggest 1/8-1/4tsp of vanilla/4oz of formula.
I transitioned from kendamil to nutramigen as doctor recommended if she wouldn’t take it. She also suggested vanilla essence in it to sweeten it if not too.
@Demi my LB has been on this about a month now. He only has a possible mild intolerance aswell. He hated the taste I couldn't even get an ounce into him. Gp told me to mix then build up. So he has 6oz bottles so I would do 1oz nutramigen and 5oz aptamil. Its q bit of a faff but you have to make both formulas separately then mix when they're the same temp. If he managed ok on that mix I would up it to 2/4 the next day. If hr wasn't keen or drinking as much I would stick to whatever mix for an extra day. Took us just over 1wk to take a full bottle of it but now he guzzles them no problem x
I’ve tried everyone’s suggestions but he will not drink it at all! I’ve had to give him his normal milk because he was getting so upset and even that was difficult to get him to drink as he didn’t trust it. Will ring the GP tomorrow and see if they can prescribe something else
I had the same with my baby boy, it tastes like cheese and is rank 😂. I told my GP and asked him for aptimil pepti instead as it is the most like breast milk

@Lisa the smell is enough to make me gag so I can see why baby’s won’t have it 😂 I’m going to ask for aptamil pepti tomorrow
You can also use a small amount of strawberry nesquik as it’s lactose free. I’d say introducing the milk slowly in with their regular milk will work best. It’ll also be a lot thinner than their regular formula so that might be throwing them off. You can use carobel or magic mix to thicken the milk, just start off slowly so you can adjust to how thick baby needs it. It’s such a bloody pain trying to get them to drink a milk you know is going to help them! 😭🤦🏼♀️ x
Maybe you could do a transition? Add a bit of normal formula in until he gets used to it? But obviously this depends on how severe the intolerance is your baby has. It only took my baby 2 days to get used to it! Some people add a drop of vanilla essence I think to improve the taste?
