Has any Mamas delivered in Brampton Civic hospital or Humber River and how was the experience?

I am 16 weeks and need a referral to an OB.. I live in Brampton however I'm wondering if driving a bit further would be a good idea if the service may be the same..also if you happen to know a great OB at either please include their names. It would be greatly appreciated 🙂

I don't have personal experience at Brampton hospital but I know I haven't heard great things. I delivered at credit valley in Mississauga and had an excellent experience.

I’m due in July, and the only hospital my midwife delivers at is Brampton Civic, so I’m set to be there. I spoke to as many women as I knew that also gave birth there and majority of them had only good things to say, it was only one that had a horrible experience and she didn’t elaborate on why. My family doc also explained to me that Brampton Civics bad rep comes from their emergency dept and that the labour and delivery ward is totally separate and would be better. But ultimately you need to make the choice that makes u most comfortable. I know the only thing that eased my mind about choosing Brampton Civic was knowing I’d be bringing my mum and husband there as support people who would 100% advocate for me. So just make sure you have a solid team of people in ur corner and hopefully everything will work out fine 💕

I was at humber river and I liked it. Nice helpful staff, private recovery room with a pull out couch for your partner, big bathroom, better than I expected food selection or you can buy food from the food court downstairs. No wifi but had netflix app on the computer which was nice when I was bored.
I was in a program to stay there for 5 days and 5 nights so I could adjust to having baby (was mental health related so had my psychiatrist come check on me during my stay)
Lactation specialists are there to help if you need, my breasts ended up engorged and a nurse helped me express the milk out when I didn't know what to do. I had bad anxiety when offered an epidural and they had the person that does it come in the delivery room and explain everything to me to put me at ease, he was also quite funny with his jokes to lighten up the mood.

I went still during covid and they allowed 2 people in the delivery room with me, I'm not sure how it is now but I'll be going there again this year.

I delivered my first at Brampton civic 8 years ago but I had a midwife (was not a fan of my OB/GYN he was rude and dismissive), and I had a good experience there

Leaking waters?

I’m 35 weeks today wooo but… every morning for the past two weeks I’ve woken up with a palm sized water mark in my pants! - no smell, no pain and unaware of it happening…

I thought it might be leaking waters so got it checked out but the midwife said it was might be urine/watery discharge! - but it’s still happening.. thoughts? 💭🫶🏻

Flashy?!

Hi ladies!! So my husband just bout me a new wedding set and I’m not sure how to feel LOL. It’s way bigger and way more flashy. Is it too much? First and foremost I’m so very grateful and proud of him, but opinions?? 🥹

Upcoming C-section.

So I’ve decided to go for an elective C-section, I know it’s the right choice after months of deliberating but I’m soooooo nervous.

I’ve had 2 very complicated births. I kinda know what to expect from the recovery as I had an emergency section with my first but I just feel nervous about being awake during it & what it feels like.. I’ve heard they strap your arms down and I’m scared of something going wrong.

I know every experience is different but if you’re happy to share what your elective was like for you (good and bad) id be very grateful. I feel really unprepared!

C-section numbness

6 months postpartum my OB has dismissed my concerns about the right above my C-section area being numb. It is so uncomfortable to lay on my stomach now, and certain moves or touches feels like the worst nerve pain in life. Majority of my friends had a vaginal birth so relating to anyone isn't real, and it appears to have mixed feedback on Google 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
