Centella Asiatica

Hi all! Has anyone used centella Asiatica topically during pregnancy for stretch mark prevention? It seems it is safe to use but I’m not finding a ton of info on it. Thanks!!

I'm using it on my belly and hips with my normal moisturizer, but for a lot of people stretchmarks are genetic and don't show this early. I already know I'm predisposed to stretchmarks (I got them on my hips during puberty) so if it helps, great. If it doesn't, my skin is still getting moisturized and supported to avoid pain and itching.

Thanks! Yes I mostly wanted to make sure it is safe to use on my belly during pregnancy. Had you asked your OBGYN about it?

Also, which brand are you using?

I’m 29 weeks today and I have been using it for a week now. My belly routine is shower, while my skin is damp use hyaluronic acid, when that dries down I will use snail mucin which is also good for hydration, then I’ll put the centella asiatica afterwards. I will then slather a home made body butter day and night. I’ve been doing this routine minus the cica since first trimester. All the ingredients I listed are pregnancy safe and honestly the earlier you start the more prepared your skin is to stretch and it will really help with stretch marks. Btw I use the brand Skin1004, hope this helped!

Thanks so much Nasline! that is the centella product I purchased as well (Madagascar centella ampoule but SKIN1004).

By** not but :)

I'm using cosrx powder mixed with my typical cerave cream, but I've also bought a gel I'm saving for summer use. I haven't asked my midwife about it specifically since I had been using it before transferring into their care.
