¿What is your baby weighing in at?

Hey guys, I’m just curious to know. What is your baby currently weighing in at? I turn 33 weeks tomorrow, and I had my OB appointment today. my baby is weighing at 3 and 1/2 pounds. I feel like that’s small, Dr said she’s okay. I’m curious to know where you girls are measuring at? 💛

I am 33 weeks as well, my baby is weighing 4lbs 14 oz.

Avatar

My baby is weighing 5lbs at 32 weeks, but he's in the 84th percentile in weight and his head is measuring 38 weeks. If your doctor says its okay, i wouldn't worry.

Avatar

Are these regular OB check ups or ultrasounds? I have my regular OB appointment tomorrow and she usually checks the size of my belly and hears baby heart beat

Avatar

I was diagnosed with GD so it makes me worry more. :( but you’re completely right if my OB says she’s okay I should take her word.

Avatar

yes, these are regular OB check ups, I’ve been going in every two weeks.
Today was the first time that she actually measured my belly, but she always checks the heartbeat and does a quick ultrasound every time I’ve gone. However, I just got transferred to the Dr. that’s going to deliver my baby and I have my appointment with them next week. Everything is getting so real. I’m excited and nervous at the same time

Avatar

here all the ultrasounds are in a different office which you have to have an referral and schedule an appointment for. My midwife just measures my belly check for heartbeat ask the usual questions urine blood pressure and thats it. I know I’ll be getting an ultrasound soon to check babies growth at around 35weeks which will be my last ultrasound. Im not nervous yet but im pretty sure I will be soon ! Im also not delivering at the hospital my midwife is affiliated with. Due to she is only there Saturdays 8-4 haha. But will deliver where I had my daughter 9 years ago.

Avatar

yeah it’s so strange how states differ in the amount of ultrasounds you get. Overall just the process is all different. I’ve been going to the same OB ever since I found out I was pregnant at 6 weeks. Of course they do the generic milestones tests such as anatomy scan around 20 weeks, testing for diabetes around 28, etc. right now I am seeing a OB/GYN nurse practitioner but she doesn’t deliver the babies, I just got transferred to my actual OB doctor that’s going to deliver me at the hospital they are affiliated with. So we will see how that goes. It’s so cool to hear all the different journeys and methods mommas can do just to deliver their bundles of joy🥰

I'm 32 weeks and one baby weighs 3.5 and the other weighs 4lbs
I'm worried about the discordance but the Dr said they were still in the good zone.

Avatar

33 weeks 5 days beans at 4.4 lbs

Avatar

oh wow twins, that’s amazing.🥰 yeah, usually one is bigger than another by a little bit. That’s how my sister-in-law was throughout her pregnancy with twins as well.

Avatar

33 weeks and 5 days and baby at 4.2 lbs put me at IUGR/FGR at the 8th percentile- reading this forum I get hope that not all values need to be similar..it's crazy how they can be so different across doctors/hospitals!!

Avatar

I’m 30 weeks as of yesterday and my baby is weighing 4.3 lbs already!

Avatar

I’m just going to say that they can’t be exactly accurate! My first baby was *supposably* weighing in at less than 6lbs and came out 8.2 lbs 😑

Avatar

by any chance do you have gestational diabetes? I’m starting to feel an instinct that my baby might have IUGR underlying cause of GD. I’m going to definitely bring this up with my OB I have an appointment Tuesday.

Avatar

I completely agree, it’s not always accurate. it’s so crazy how everyone differs.

Avatar

I'm 5ft and my daughter is 32 weeks rn she's damn near 5 pounds. she's going to be HUGE would much rather have a tiny baby

Avatar

yeah and it's so hard, like I'm happy I get 2 out of one birth but damn it's been hard.

Avatar

wow you’re petite with a big baby lol. I’m 5’6, a plus size momma with GD and my nugget is tiny. Stereo typically you would think being “bigger” my baby would be big as well. But no, it all fluctuates lol 😂💛

Avatar

you’re strong and you got this momma 😊💕💛

Avatar

my fiance her dad is 6ft 3 and 200 pounds so 😂 they say big boys breed big babies

Avatar

thank you 😊

Avatar

30 weeks and 4 days. Baby weighs at 4.5lbs puts her at 93 percentile.

Avatar

I bet daddy is a big guy ain't he 😂 swear it's these big boys

Avatar

yes he is huge and am 5ft lol short girl. Think baby is going to be a big one

Avatar

my fiancé is 5’10, his daughter was a big baby at birth but now very petite and small, like his mom (her gma) she’s 4’10 and from the Philippines and my mom is 5’0. She’s probably going to be small taking after they’re petite genes lol who knows 😂

Avatar

you are right who knows😂😂😂these kids can totally change growing up

Avatar

definitely it can all change, I was a small baby too. 5lbs 13oz full term

Avatar

How does everyone know what their baby weighs?! My last ultrasound was at 20 weeks baby was 14 oz. My third and last ultrasound isn’t until 36 weeks! Currently just about 31 weeks now. Are you all having more than just 3 ultrasounds?

Avatar

I had one around 20 weeks and one this week 30 weeks and I am having on at 35 weeks again.

Avatar

For my first trimester I saw my OB every 4 weeks . Around 28 weeks and currently I see her every 2 weeks. At around 36 weeks I’ll start to see the doctor that is going to deliver me every week until I deliver. At every OB appointment they take my blood pressure, urine sample, they check the heartbeat, and also do a quick ultrasound to make sure everything‘s okay. It’s not an in-depth scan, but just a minute or two to see if baby is developing okay. I think it just all depends on the OB. I think I get more “ultrasound” scans because they actually use the big machine (sorry idk what is called) to check the heartbeat instead of the fetal Doppler. So think about it as killing two birds with one stone, listening to the heartbeat and since they are using the machine to do that they take a quick glance at the baby too.

Avatar

I was 24 days early at 7lbs 8 ozs, my husband was two weeks late at 7lbs 14 oz. I was longer than him, but he had a huge head that apparently gave his mom 4th degree tears and shocked his doctors, so it makes sense we would have a big baby. The test results from my ultrasound say his head is in greater than the 99th percentile, thank goodness im 5ft 6in and already have wide hips. Your baby may just be small because you were a small baby lol.

Avatar

I was only supposed to have one at 10 weeks and one at 20 weeks, but they weren't able to get everything at my first anatomy ultrasound because Im overweight, so they sent me to maternal fetal medicine for another anatomy scan. When they did that one he was already measuring over 2 weeks ahead in everything, so they started me going every 4 weeks to get growth scans done. Every time I've gone, his head keeps getting further ahead. At this point im 32 weeks and his head is measuring 38 weeks in the >99th percentile plus his weight is in the 84th percentile, so now I have to get them done every week because he is getting so big they want to keep an eye on him.

Avatar

that’s kind of nice! I would of appreciated having one this week (30 weeks). I’ve only been given one at 9 weeks, 20 weeks, and then the last one will be at 36 weeks.

Avatar

yeah, you see your doctor way more than I do! This month I will have a total of 2 appointments. But in April weeks 32-36 for me I only have 1 appointment and it’s at the 36 week mark for the last ultrasound! That will make it 4 weeks between appointments for me. So odd how much care differs.

Avatar

thanks for sharing! I can understand the extra ultrasounds for monitoring a large baby or a small baby. Obviously a lot changes week to week. I wish I could get an update on my little guy, being told he is about 14 oz, 11 weeks ago is a long time! By the time I get to 36 weeks, it will have been 16 weeks since a growth scan was done!

Avatar

I'm 34 weeks and my little girl is at 5 1/2 lbs 78 percentile

Avatar

Im just under 32 weeks and baby is 4 lbs

Avatar

32 weeks baby weight 4 lbs 6 oz.

Avatar

I went at 32 weeks and he was 4lbs. Then I did the 3D scan at 32weeks 2days and she said he was 4lbs 8oz…. Idk if he can really can weight that fast but he’s Atleast 4lbs

Avatar

At my 30 week he was about 4.5lbs. I’m 34 weeks now so I’m sure he’s around 5lbs

Avatar

I went in for a sonogram yesterday and I feel like I got the worst tech ever. It was such a frustrating experience compared to all of my others. She couldn’t get any measurements without me laying on my side or moving around like a chicken with no head. I’m almost 34 weeks and she said I’m measuring at almost 6 pounds… 94th percentile. I don’t have GD. I find this really hard to believe because my doctor measured her at 4.5 pounds a week ago. I think these machines are inaccurate but now I’m Ofcourse worried.

Avatar

My last ultrasound was my anatomy scan in December! I was 22 weeks. Since then all my doctor has done during my appointments is listen to baby’s heartbeat and that’s all. I’m currently 34 weeks. I have no idea what baby is weighing. I wish my doctor gave me more info about that

Avatar

31 weeks, 4lbs 3oz

Avatar

33 weeks & she measured at 4.6 lbs

Avatar

I’m 31weeks and she is weighing in at 3lb 7 xxx

Avatar

32 weeks. Baby boy is 4lbs 12oz. 54th%. At 28 weeks he was 3lbs 3oz. 65th%. I am high risk with GD so baby size is monitored closely. He is right where he needs to be. Doc says I might make it to 39 weeks if he keeps going this rate.

Avatar

wow i think that my baby is very small, I too have GD. Deapite having many doctor appts, i feel as if they arent being very through and checking me as they should. :( my baby is measuring 3lbs 8oz the same as yours at 28 weeks and im 33 weeks today

Avatar

this is exactly how I feel! I had one at 22 weeks and they told me that would be the last ultrasound until delivery! I am dying to see my baby again though and know how much he is weighing.

Avatar

I seen a specialist for my baby girl since 21 weeks for growth.
She weighed 5 pounds and 2 ounces at 33 weeks 5 days. She’s in the 30th percentile

Reduced movements

Baby hadn’t moved for about 2 hours (that I can be sure of) but has now got hiccups and moving slightly again. Should I still go to triage or is that enough for things to be ok?

Growth scan

Just had a growth scan 35 + 2 and they said baby is weighing 3.5lbs, I had a growth scan at 28 weeks and he was 3lbs then. I’m back for a scan in 2 weeks but they said if he drops again they will look to induce me at 37-38 weeks now I’m scared!

Is anyone super sweaty down there?

I am around 21 weeks now, doing shopping today and was genuinely panicking my waters had leaked. Rang the local antenatal assessment and was suggested to change, pad up and monitor for an hour and go in to be checked if necessary. Been monitoring with toilet paper wads (as I didn't have maternity pads this early on!) and regular checking and luckily I think everything is okay... But seriously, was it just sweat??! Has anyone else experienced this?

Group B Strep positive labor and baby

Hi,
First time mom to be here, currently around 37 weeks.
Can anyone please share their experience of labor and how was the baby health in the first weeks, months when tested positive for GBS and receiving antibiotics during labor?
I was blessed to not have any serious complications during whole pregnancy and was really looking forward to unmedicated easy-ish birth hopefully and healthy baby but now is concerned about me being able to stay mobile during labor and having side effects for antibiotics, and for baby to have microbiome negative affects due to antibiotics taken..
Any insights or experience would be helpful.

Gestational diabetes

Please share your labor and delivery experience. I have it under control, have gained less weight compared to my others, don't need meds, and baby isnt showing any signs of being a big baby. I am hoping I can still go naturally, instead of being induce and definitely no c section
