Gestational diabetes

Please share your labor and delivery experience. I have it under control, have gained less weight compared to my others, don't need meds, and baby isnt showing any signs of being a big baby. I am hoping I can still go naturally, instead of being induce and definitely no c section

I had all the same things throughout both of my pregnancies and deliver 2 healthy baby girls. They were average weight and came at 39 weeks and 39 weeks 1 day. No complications or extras needed. I had natural unmedicated births but I was scheduled for inductions, they just decided to come earlier lol

I had an induction but I had a pretty ideal birth, it was exactly what I wanted.

Had GD last pregnancy, no meds needed just managed with diet. I was induced at 37 weeks due to high BP, baby was 9lb and is 2 now, doing great.

He was my second and my labors tend to be faster so he was out about 22 hrs from induction to delivery. I'll be catching my third one on the way out (/¯◡ ‿ ◡)/¯ ~

Most other mamas I know who had GD went on to delivery vaginally without incident as long as baby was well positioned. Know 2 who had emergency C-sections due to fetal distress.

I am 23 weeks and have only gained 9 lbs, but I also had HG that has since resolved. My blood pressure is actually lower than what I usually am at. But everything is going good like my other pregnancies.

I just really dont want to be induced or have a c section

I didn’t gain any weight with my pregnancy and had a nearly 10lbs baby. They induced me early as he was measuring big (I was on two types of insulin). It ended in a section because he flipped around. Not because of the GD or size.

I was told by the consultant that I could go over due to managing GD well so I was induced at 40+6 but baby came at 41+2. She was measuring only around 6 pounds but she came out at a whopping 8 pounds 4. The scans and measurements aren't always accurate, mine weren't anyway. I did end up having an emergency c section due to when I was pushing my cervix started to go back around her head X

Had it with my middle daughter and she was actually my smallest baby. Induced at 39 weeks. I was on meds metformin and got my weight under control with the diet. Was actually my easiest of all pregnancies

Hospital Bag?

Hey everyone! When is the right time to pack your hospital bag and what on earth do I need? I see so many different websites and advice on social media that it all gets very overwhelming. Thank you so much for any help.

Heart murmur

Took my 4 month old to the GP yesterday for something unrelated and when checking him over they heard a heart murmur. That didn’t say too much and scheduled another GP appointment for next week. Just wondering if any other mummas babies have had one and what their journeys were/if baby just grew out of it. Thank you x

UK Mums: If you had an assigned midwife for your first pregnancy, but not your 2nd. Were you a bit disappointed?

For my first pregnancy I was blessed with having an assigned midwife that I saw every appointment. She was absolutely amazing, so I guess I was spoiled in that sense. This pregnancy, I see a different midwife every appointment and I am a bit disappointed. Before anyone jumps on my back I know it is not guaranteed to have an assigned midwife. It is just hard when each midwife answered my question differently at each appointment and it took the epilepsy clinic (was referred due to having seizures in the last) to give me the actual answer. I also keep getting told that if I have any general questions to contact MAU, but I always thought they were there for urgent matters? Anyways sorry for rambling, I am just a person that feels at ease with consistency 😭

Things you wish you’d do before C-Section

I’m having my section on Sunday, and trying to write a bunch of ‘self-care’ type things I want to do before hand.
Now I’m not talking the practical things like setting up changing or feeding stations etc. I’m talking things for you like shaving your legs or dying your eyebrows 😂
I know from my last section that I’m not gunna feel my best so I want to do everything I can to feel good! I’ve got a fresh haircut already!
So what are some things you did / wish you did before your c section?

Burnout

I have the odd day (like today) where I feel completely wiped out, without energy, physical especially, even if I had we good night sleep. I try entertaining baby as much as I normally do but it's a lot! Don't know if it's burnout or what.. will mention to gp in case I have some deficiency but again it's not everyday. Baby is only 4 months, am I too old?? And we'd like another at some point 🙈 don't know how mums of multiples do it

First time leaving the house with newborn

Has anybody managed to step outside since the baby arrived? We were considering starting super local, 10 min by car to somewhere where we can go on a pram walk or cafe. But we were wondering if this is safe, given the baby has no vaccines yet. What’s everyone doing?
