Took my 4 month old to the GP yesterday for something unrelated and when checking him over they heard a heart murmur. That didn’t say too much and scheduled another GP appointment for next week. Just wondering if any other mummas babies have had one and what their journeys were/if baby just grew out of it. Thank you x

My little boy was admitted to the hospital for gastroenteritis at 3 weeks old, they then found a heart murmurs in which an ECG was done and an xray. The xray showed an enlarged cardiac silhouette. He then had an echo and no abnormalities. He’s now 3, grown out of his innocence heart murmur and has no cardiac issues since

I have a heart murmur. Never had any problems or needed any special cardiac appointments. Literally just something I know I have.

Mine had one but grew out of it x

I had a heart murmur from birth. When I was little I used to have to have antibiotics before any dentist appointments as more prone to infection, I had yearly check ups with cardio and I had to be put to sleep for basic things that would have been done whilst awake to other children (like having a tooth removed). Honestly it never affected my life and the only thing it stopped me doing was joining the army when I was 18 which I’m now thankful for. I’m now pregnant and they got it checked again and it’s disappeared completely. I’ve grown out of it.
Try not to worry x
