Emergency C-Section

Hello.
I had an emergency c section.

I would speak to your health visitor or Dr about how your feeling and see if you can get help mentally to come to terms with what happened.

I ended up with postpartum depression and anxiety when I got home from the hospital, it wasn’t because of the c section but whole load of stuff lol, not saying it will happen to but so you can have someone to talk to about your feelings and get reassurance.

I suffer from depression and anxiety anyways so I just started taking my meds and slowly got better. x

Hi i had an emergency csection too, sepsis, had a blood transfusion and an unknown Infection which I was told they haven't found the cause for 3/4 months later. I was in hospital with my baby for a week on antibiotics etc recovery was difficult but for me I found it manageable over time, took my time trying to adjust, moving was so difficult and painful. Now close to 4 months after I am doing much better, no scar issues apart from an overhang due to it being an emergency but I was so out of it for a day or 2 that I didn't remember much as I lost 2 litres of blood so was so exhausted. How are you coping?

I had a bad experience too, it was very hard. Almost 6 months ago and I’m doing well. I found the first 2 months very challenging but I’m basically back to normal. Just take all the pain killer if you need and try not to rush back to normal

I didn’t end up with a c section, but I started to bleed out mid final delivery. They had to pump my babies stomach; she swallowed so much blood. Then, the doctor evolused my cord, and I almost died. I bled out. I had to receive 3 liters of blood. We were in the hospital for a week. I didn’t meet my baby for 6 hours after she was born. My husband was sure he’d never see me again. The pain after was severe. I was so weak, and unable to recover it felt like. When I was finally home, I ate lots of veggies and fruits, just trying to get my body back together. All of my levels of everything were all over the place, and I just felt so awful. Recovery was slow, but be gentle with yourself. And talk to your doctor!!! Tell them everything that’s going on.
