Hey ladies! This is totally gross but my underwear smells kinda fishy 🤮 we don't have sex cos he's scared and that used to give a slight smell for a day. But now idk what it is 🤮 but its super off putting. My discharge hasn't changed in colour or anything it just smelly, can anyone offer advice? I don't have a assigned midwife so I'd need to call up and I don't get anything back for 48 hours ❤

Maybe contact gp. I’m surprised you don’t have a midwife yet!
Could be a uti, could be bv or maybe you could be leaking a bit of urine if baby’s on your bladder?
I’d wear some panty liners and change frequently just to monitor it but also defo speak to gp x
no itching or stinging at all 🤷🏼♀❤ I may give them a call thank you xxx
I have one but I can't contact her... Its so weird 😂😂🤣 I see the same person. I've seen her twice and due to see her on the 25th but I can't contact her or anything. Thank you so much ❤ I'll give them a call xxxx

Even if you don’t have any stinging or anything it could still be a uti. It’s really common to get practically symptomless ones during pregnancy. I had one the other week and only found out from having to do a routine urine sample!! Deffo speak to gp
so i rang the dr and he just kinda winged it and said he would give me antibiotics for BV. But he said he wasn't sure and if it doesn't clear up to go for a swab but now I'm freaking out cos I don't wanna take random antibiotics 🤣 x

Yeah it is a bit strange, I would’ve thought they’d ask you to come in and give a urine sample and / or a swab to double check beforehand. I understand not really wanting to take antibiotics if you might not need them, but I spoke to my doc the other week and he said more often than not even if a doctor isn’t 100% sure what it could be they’ll most likely treat for a urine infection / bv anyway x
that's exactly what I thought. He had mentioned a swab but by the end of the conversation just said antibiotics but he said even he wasn't too sure which made me worry a bit. I'm usually the first person to take medication however since I've been pregnant I'm so wary, I haven't even taken Gaviscon for heartburn🤣🤦🏻♀ I know its silly because of course they're safe. Thank you ladies ❤ xxxx
dr has said it sounds like BV, are these medicated? x

Fishy tends to mean BV from what I've read

Bv reoccurs so even after the antibiotics it's likely to return apparently super common in pregnancy. I'd reccomend probiotics (I think that's how you spell it!) Safe in pregnancy and tries to encourage natural intimate health

I would try and get a swab done by your hospital, do they have a triage or day assessment unit? X
so I went to an assessment unit after ringing triage about reduced movement so had to have tests done anyway. No sign of infection but she said if I have BV then it wouldn't show up without a swab, I said what the dr had said and she said to ring them and ask for a swab, failing that go back xx

I’m surprised the assessment unit didn’t do a swab? Mine have swabbed me previously a couple of times! Definitely get the swab done anyway just to rule things out x
I have no idea what to say to the dr. A midwife said you need to swab me so swab me 😂 I was a bit annoyed that they didn't but I was more concerned about baby. I work up at the hospital so its not a trek, would be easier if anything to have it at the hospital xx

Maybe call them tomorrow (the assessment unit) and ask whether you can be swabbed? I’m not sure all hospitals/areas work so differently lol. If not call the gp in the morning and ask if you can just have a swab to check for infection as it was advised by a midwife xx
thank you ❤ gonna call them this morning but also apparently they use a spectulm? Not sure what it is but I'm scared 🤣🥴 xxx

If you’ve had a smear you’ve had a speculum. I haven’t had my smear yet but I’ve had a speculum when they swabbed me. It’s uncomfortable but doesn’t hurt! It just helps them to see better inside and to get to your cervix to swab it xx

You’ll have quite a few speculums throughout pregnancy I will imagine! I’ve had 2 so far 🤣xxx
