I lost my mucus plug on Sunday. I knew immediately looking at it that’s what it was, it just didn’t have any blood in it which google says is common. I called the advice line and the midwife barely asked any questions and then he told me it was just discharge and to carry on like normal. It was too thick, long, and odorless for it to be just discharge. I tried telling him I know my body and that’s not discharge and he just said “Well, pregnancy changes things.” I need to call and reschedule my appointment next week anyway and thinking about trying to get it earlier and ask to be checked for dilation. Thoughts? Would you do the same?
Baby is already sitting so low and I have unbelievable cramping/pressure in my pelvic area. I get a weird gut feeling that baby is gonna come early, especially bc I don’t have regular periods/usually have periods so light it may not have been a period so last period due date was very different than size, but they went with last period due date anyway.

I say always trust your mom gut, BUT my discharge did change during pregnancy. I had clear odorless thick discharge. You can definitely ask to get a cervical check next appointment!
Yes, sorry my discharge did change while pregnant but this is even a drastic change from that! My discharge since has been completely consistent to what it has been during my whole pregnancy which does have a slight odor.

Even with mucus plug coming out , baby still could go overdue lost mine with my daughter at 30 weeks still didn’t come till 39

Dr Google says you can lose it pretty early but still not go into labor.
My question isn’t if I’m going into labor early, it’s if I should get checked to make sure I’m not on my way to preterm labor.

I would think without any other symptoms you wouldn't be able to tell. Pretty much all the symptoms of preterm labor are contraction, cramps or discharge related.
You called the doctor/midwife that about all you can do beyond a hospital visit for an NST.

I lost partial of my mucus plug two weeks before my water broke and the rest a week before my water broke, baby was born 5 days before due date

So I had my placenta tear at 32 weeks and 4 days I’m 1 cm dilated and then at 32 weeks and 5 days I definitely lost my mucus plug. My doula said that it can regenerate and my dr says that cervical checks can tell you something or nothing at the same time until your 4 cm dilated or have very consistent contraction I’ve learned the drs won’t do much. They told me to expect baby boy between now and mid May. They don’t think I’ll last till my due date June 8th.
But if you go into triage and explain the pain and tell them you’ve lost your mucus plug they will put you and baby on the monitor for an hour to check your body and give you a cervical exam if you want one!
Trust your gut mama!

I lost my mucus plug at 24 weeks and they had me come in to be checked. Everything was fine and I wasn’t dilated and they just told me it regenerates and that it was fine basically.

I lost part of my mucus plug about 2 weeks ago. They also told me it was probably just discharge, but after a few more prelabor symptoms they checked more throughly and I'm currently 32 weeks and sitting in the hospital trying to delay labor. Not to scare you, because all will be well, we caught things early enough, but I sure was glad to be safe rather than sorry so the doctors could help!
