I just came back from holiday and we flew with TUI, I turned 28 weeks while away. On the way back they asked me how many weeks I was and if I had a fit to fly letter which I did. Someone did post about zoomdoc which you can use to get fit to fly letters. I got mine from my doctors but I think some midwives can do them, mind wouldn’t though. I had to pay for mine but I wanted to get it just in case so when they asked me if I had one I was glad I did x
I got mine from ZoomDoc today, flying next Thursday. My GP said it would take them 2-4 weeks to produce a letter (and still they wanted me to pay £30!!!!), my midwife couldn’t produce it, but made sure that in my notes it was very clear I had low risk pregnancy, and had information about my blood pressure, BMI and that I’m not experiencing any symptoms that could indicate I have preeclampsia or anything else.
I just came back from Brazil by TAP and they asked me for a fit to fly. I went to a private GP to get one.
How do you go about zoom doc ? I’m so stressed out with it all as I’m getting no further forward with different health care centres. Now all is closed till Tuesday. With TUI has it got to be 2 weeks before flying we need the fit to fly certificate? X
The midwife will do you one for free past 28 weeks, just book an appointment with them. I think the letter needs to be dated within one week of your outbound flight so don’t get the letter any earlier than 10th May. If that fails for whatever reason you can get one from your GP, make an appointment (I did mine over the phone) and then pick it up from reception, I had to pay £20 for this though. I flew at 25 weeks and I got the doctors letter for that (midwives wouldn’t do one before 28 weeks). I am flying again on Sunday (will be 29 weeks) and I had an appointment with the midwives yesterday to get the letter
I’m flying out to the Dominican on Friday with tui and I’ll be exactly 31 weeks, I got a note from my midwife but it doesn’t look very formal and like I could have written it myself so gonna buy one from ZoomDoc too, just for the extra peace of mind! Xx
Hi, just wondering if you used zoomdoc and if it was accepted? I fly next week and my doctors or midwife also don’t do them. Thank you x
@LucyI ’m afraid not, mine was paper that had been wet signed by midwife/doctor x
@Holly @Holly did you have a zoomdoc fit to fly that wasn’t accepted? My midwife nor doctors do them anymore as they said it’s due to insurance purposes. I have paid for a zoomdoc fit to fly, a doctor still signs the letter just not my GP. They have sent it to me via email. It says they are CQC registered so hopefully will be fine to use. X
I got asked when I flew how many weeks I am and as I was under 28 they said they didn’t need to see my fit to fly. But would have asked for it otherwise. Have you asked your midwife for one?
