Northside or Emory Decatur??

Hi! I have Kaiser insurance and my only options for hospitals to deliver are Northside Hospital Atlanta (Johnson Ferry Rd) or Emory Decatur. Has anyone delivered at either of these, and what was your experience?

I delivered at Emory Decatur. Nurses were great. The on call Dr's were actually my Dr's from my Ob office. I vocalize what I did & didn't want & asked questions! My son is a preemie born 3 months early, the nicu staff was also great!!

My experience at Emory Decatur was horrible. The doctor on call was rude and argued with me about what he felt was best and when he realized that I wasn’t going to do it, he literally said and I quote “ well I’m just gonna go deal with patients that listens to the doctors”… needless to say I ended up having an emergency c-section with a completely different team that actually took my feelings and concerns into consideration.

But after that experience I rather do a home birth or go back to my hometown from now on. I’m from Michigan this was my first child born here and the bedside manners I got from the staff made me uncomfortable and depressed.

hi! And thank you! Yes that’s likely where I’ll go. I’ve watched the virtual tours online and there’s been a lot more positive sentiment about Northside vs Emory Decatur. Even my MIL was like, eh no lol

Go to northside, they are the best and literally have everything. I lost my first baby at Decatur Emory at 21 weeks and they didn’t listen to my request about trying to do the best to save him and more reasons

Questioning if I should be concerned

I had an etopic pregnancy last January which resulted in losing my right tube.

We just found out we were pregnant 2 weeks ago when I was 8dpo and since then, my line progression has done well. I ended up getting bloodwork done last week on Thursday which my hcg was 88 which I didn’t know until today after my ultrasound-

Today I am to be 5 weeks and 2 days well..

I had an ultrasound vaginal and stomach, I was told she couldn’t see anything and I was asking if we should be concerned. The nurse then told me what my hcg was on Thursday and said that it is very very early. I told her why we came early was to make sure we do not lose another tube. She said they wouldn’t see it until 6 plus weeks.

I just don’t know if I should be worried about her not seeing a gestational sac- nothing. And I was told to come back in 3 weeks.

Does my hcg of being 88 truly mean I am earlier then what I had thought.

Just looking for some comfort please, I don’t want to go through waves of feeling like everything is going to be alright and then crashing.

My line progression and flo dates I apparently ovulated on the 3rd of March

Should I be concerned. I am thinking to get more labs done to see what my hcg has went up to and hopefully they can tell me if it’s good or not.

Toddler asked how I got pregnant 😂

I’m currently 27 weeks pregnant with my third baby. My oldest daughter, who just turned 3 last December, asked me today how her baby brother got into my belly 😂. She caught me off guard, and I didn’t have a quick answer, so I told her to remind me later so I could explain it to her.I need ideas for what I would tell her.

Lightning Crotch in labour?

This might be a stupid question, but can anyone who has given birth before tell me, do you get lightning crotch pains during labour as well as contractions? I'm finding lightning crotch to be really intense at the moment, it takes my breath away and makes me tense up, I'm not sure how I'll be able to stay relaxed with that constant sharp stabbing pain. Can anyone shed any light?
