Car Seat šŸ’ŗā€¦

HELLOOOOO!

what car seat does everyone have for their LO?

i’m presuming you no longer use the infant carrier or not as much if you do??

what compliance does your car seat follow?

is it isofix?

is it 360?

how much was it?

did you do your research before buying or did you get in store advice?

where did you purchase it?

(i’m asking because of a facebook group, i find it quite toxic & negative & find they recommend the same exact car seat to everyone which is a good Ā£400/500, or for a certain compliance is Ā£200 minimum).

just curious😊.

I have a maxi cosi coral which goes on a familyfix3 base. They sell for like £300 but I got mine second hand. I researched it and it fits onto my maxi cosi Pram too.

that’s amazing you found one that goes on to your pram, i haven’t heard of this one either, not that i’m looking as i brought a new car seat today, but i’ll look this one up tomorrow too!

We got ours from smyths, I can't remember the name but it's a 360, safest model they do, can either be seat belted or isofix with seat belt anchor in the boot. My boy loves it, we recline him for long drives or if he's tired

i brought the Babyauto
Xperta i-Size x

i wonder if it’s the same as ours, do you have a picture of it? just curious nowšŸ¤”

i’m talking after they grow out of the infant car seat, but that looks good & well protected, mine was quite basic as it came in my travel system & because it was soooo expensive as it was, i didn’t upgrade my infant car seat !

snapppp!! we brought that one today! how is it?? we haven’t used it yet… i dont drive at the moment so i’ll be moving it from car to car (not often) 😩. i know it’s on the heavier side as i lifted it in the shop, but it’s doable ! x

@~SherissešŸ¦‹ my son LOVES it! He screamed the entire time in his infant carrier which made journeys really difficult. With this one he can see out the window and loves watching the world go by. We lie him back a bit when we're doing the 200 mile drive to my grandma's or we need him to sleep in the car. So easy to put him in and out as well

Avatar

amazingggg, thank you so muchhh! i’m excited to put my girl in it!!x

Avatar

@~SherissešŸ¦‹ you're more than welcome! He was like a new baby on car journeys, we got him a back seat mirror so we could keep an eye on him but he uses it to watch things going by šŸ˜‚ x

Avatar

that’s tooo cute, bless him🄹 x

Avatar

@kat it can be seat belted in as it has the seat belt points, it just stops the seat from spinning and becomes a regular car seat. If you look at the other photos of that model you can see the green seat belt points šŸ™‚ we were also shown how to install it both ways by the staff at smyths x

my girl is quite long but dinky, i haven’t opened it yet, i don’t exactly have the money to be spending Ā£500 on a car seat, being a single mama (although her dads still involved & buys most things) & a student. i’ll look into this a bit more. but thank you for your reply ā˜ŗļø.

amazing, i’ll look into them, thank you!

Post partum dad

I have a 2 month old. A few weeks ago my husband crashed out because he didn't feel like he was getting to bond with her. I started exclusively breastfeeding around that time and honestly didnt see the big deal. Baby and I left for a few days and when we got back home, everything was fine. He was extremely hands-on. He helped with my meals, her bedtime, bath, stories.....for a few weeks it was great. Then he randomly sounds depressed af. He says our lo is better off without him, he wants to sleep all day , he asks me not to watch tv then tried playing a video game. He refused to reply to me when i asked any follow-up questions. Then he woke up our baby trying to race me to the bathroom first thing in the morning . He's doing a weird mix of crying, trying, and giving up. Im starting to feel like I cant handle him not being able to handle life with baby and just want to be alone. Are there resources for men?

My friend is over from another country but I don't feel like leaving the house

One of my old friend's is visiting where I currently live and we agreed to meet up today but I feel so tired and exhausted from everything that's been going on with me. I feel if I meet her I'm going to end up having another breakdown from the exhaustion which I have been having often. I'm just thinking about how I need to rest to be able to deal with my toddler and go back to work on Monday without feeling like I need another weekend. I'm torn on what to do so I need you guys to help me decide

Weaning

Hello mamas, could I get some advice please with how and what to wean as started this week with my baby but not really what to give and when what time day. Have started with puree vegetables and making them myself and offering it in the evening to my baby but she tends to get irritated and tired and has a few spoonfulls and then gives up and has a meltdown. So I’m questioning myself am I feeding her wrong time of day and what’s best to mix the food with milk or baby rice please.

Do I need to pay anything when my child starts school in September

I'm a new mum and obviously didn't grow up in the uk. I currently pay roughly £640 for nursery fees. I'm wondering if my expenses will reduce when my LO starts school or there'll be other expenses (besides bags, uniform etc) will my expenses be anywhere close to £600 monthly?

People telling you your baby is hungry..

I know people don’t always mean it in a bad way and are trying to relate, but when people say my baby is hungry when chewing his hands. I feed him regularly. He eats pretty much every 2 hours. He isn’t hungry, he just loves chewing and exploring his hands. Or they say something about teething, which it is also not, as he isn’t unsettled with it. I have looked into it myself and can be common and neither of those things! He has done it most of the day since 2 months old.
