Thought I’d share my experience for anyone who’s thinking of having this!
This is my first baby, I have cholestasis so induction was needed. I decided to go with the non hormonal method first which are 5 rods that are put in and slowly expand I believe!
I came in at 1pm but had the rods put in at 4:45, they were put in with the speculum and was definitely uncomfortable so I had gas and air. Unfortunately they all fell out so had to be put back in manually, this I would say was more painful but once done it was fine. Afterwards it basically felt like my period would be coming tomorrow.
They get left in for 15 hours - overnight and this morning I had tightenings..
They took them out this morning and I’ve gone from 1cm to 3cm so just waiting to go up and have my waters broke - they worked really well for me but yeah! Any questions let me know!

Oh thank you so much for writing this!! I’m going in tomorrow for dilapan induction and I hope I have a similar experience to you ☺️ best of luck!! Xx

Thanks for this Louise currently being induced went for the dilapan option how long was it until they broke your waters after the 15 hours x

I had the rods out at 8:30ish and had my waters broke at 17:30, had to wait for a room in the delivery suites!
