not yet. I haven’t spoken to my midwife yet, as I only did the scan today. But the dr doing the scan mentioned it’s very likely I need C-section because the baby is huge

It is a worrying think especially when you hadn’t initially planned but if baby is that big just think a section is what’s best for baby rather than them getting stuck and then needing an emergency one xx

I had a scan at 32 + 4 and she was weighing 5lbs 11oz. Got my next scan at 38 weeks

Bear in mind that the estimates can be a full pound or two out so don’t worry too much!

did they say the baby was measuring big too? If so, why are they only doing remeasuring at 38weeks and not earlier?

No, so the sonographer looked a bit star struck but the dr said everything was absolutely normal and they’re not concerned at all! My baby’s tummy was measuring at 37 weeks 😅🤣 I’ve got my community midwife appointment on Friday when I will be 34 weeks to discuss birthing plans.

I'm 34 weeks and 2 days and my little man is weighing at 5.0lbs

I would say that’s slightly bigger than average. I’m 32 weeks and baby is 4lb 9 at 36 weeks they’ve said he should be around 6lb ish! wont know until my scan. Try not to panic! they could induce you before thinking about a c-section. They can induce you from 37 weeks I wouldn’t say baby would be that large! I had my daughter at 37 weeks and she was estimated 7lb10 she was 7lb2! My friend had a baby was estimated 5lb 10 at 36 weeks she had him 39 weeks at 5lb 2. Xxx

My boy is measuring on the 99th percentile, the midwife I saw after the scan was very dismissive of my concerns and basically said "it'll be fine" which I'm not very happy about.

Seeing my own midwife tomorrow so I'm going to ask her about a possible early Induction. Also have another scan next week at 37+3 so we'll see how he's measuring then but I'm not optimistic

33 weeks and already 5lb 1oz so I’m prepared for a chunker!

I went for my 32 week scan and my baby is measuring quite large at 5lb 2oz xx

I went for a growth scan today at 36+3 & my little one is measuring at 6lb 13oz (3.1Kg) x

I had a scan on Monday (36 weeks) as I have GD and baby measuring in 75% percentile and estimated at 3kg (6lbs 12). Consultant said it wasn’t too bad but can’t go past 41 weeks so will need to be induced if baby not arrived in week 40 naturally

Any guesses?

I just had my 12 week scan today! Any fun guesses on the gender using the nub theory? 🥰

Emergency scan

Hi! I went to triage on Saturday night for reduced movement as I hadn’t felt baby all day. I was checked over with Doppler etc and sent on my way - midwife said everything was great.

I’ve just been called by the hospital that I’m booked in for an emergency scan and it’s just taken me by surprise. Has anyone else experienced this?

C section with a 2 Yr old

Please be honest how much of a struggle is this? I am worried, I'm currently 34 weeks but struggling to walk bc of my pelvis, it's already difficult having to run after her and with the tantrums etc
Any tips ??

How does everyone do it

I’m 8 weeks pregnant and have a 3 year old and I can’t even get out of bed without being sick, can’t even stand for longer than 2 minutes, my toddler is basically living on snacks as I can’t get out of bed to cook, I can’t even take him to nursery I feel terrible, I’m only 8 weeks and have so much longer to go 😭

Birth plan

Debating between natural birth vs C section.
Labour lengths, recovery times afterwards, control involved in a c section, pregnancy again after c sections.. give me your experiences/opinions. 😊
(Also, if the hospital was 1.5 hours away would that affect your decision)

Early labour?

Im really unsure if what I’m having is the start of labour or just digestive pains? I’ve been getting sharp/crampy pains across my abdomen and back which come and go every 10/15 mins, not really typical period like pains yet but they are very noticeable. I feel like it’s been getting more painful since this morning, but at the same time I’m having diarrhoea and nausea. The only difference I’ve noticed is the pain is not going away after going to the toilet or position changes. I’m going to call triage but I thought to wait and see a few more hours. BTW I’m 37 weeks
