Birth plan

I went for natural with my first and was up and moving as normal after 3 days. And I had a blood infusion. And plan on doing natural this time.
With c section it can take a while to heal and can't lift for 6 weeks apparently

I’ve had two babies before this is my third, I had a natural water birth with my first and was induced with my second, no pain relief either time, would love to do a water birth again and would rather be induced than have a section if I needed to be x

I have had unplanned emergency c-section December 2022, I had no issue so far in this pregnancy (28 weeks) due to C-section.
I am choosing c-section this time around just due to traumatic experience with my first birth. Recovery post c-section was manageable considering I was not prepared for that option at all.

Had a ventouse first time and home pool birth second. Will 💯be trying for a home pool birth again this time round- so magical!

I would prefer a vaginal birth (hate the term natural). I had a c-section with my daughter because she was breech and it’s looking likely this baby is staying in the breech position also. My first c-section wasn’t awful but I wouldn’t choose it if baby went head down. The pain was pretty intense the first few days and feeling limited to what you can and can’t do is frustrating with a newborn to look after. It’s hard/very painful to sit up from lying and you can’t drive for six weeks after. I also hate my scar which I know sounds petty in the grand scheme of things 😂

I was induced with my first due to cord flow problems and after 6 days it ended in an emergency csection because of the stress that was put on mine and my sons bodies from labouring for days our heart rates was dropping.
I’d never again try for a vaginal birth and risk needing an induction therefore I’m opting for a csection.
The only ‘problem’ I’ve had this pregnancy regarding my previous csection is that my scar at the start of this pregnancy was itchy but I think that’s because I’m having twins so faster stretching earlier on. My previous birth was in May 2023 so really not a huge gap either.
The recovery really wasn’t that bad! Within 10 days I was back to doing everything other than heavy lifting and bending down they did take weeks longer but really wasn’t an issue (was driving after 14 days aswell) and I was out of the hospital in just over 24 hours but would’ve been less if my son wasn’t born at 2am (I was discharged at 9am the following day)

I had a vaginal delivery the first time and was induced was in hospital total 5 days (3 days induction 1 labour and 1 postnatal) I’m a midwife and would personally always go for vaginal birth unless there was a medical reason not too. The other things you need to consider with having a C-section is how many children you want as the more csections you have the higher the chances of you having abnormal placental implantation so if you want more than 2 children I’d consider this too x

I’m hoping for a vbac after a horrible recovery post emergency c section. For me I feel that an elective would be unnecessary major surgery and would prefer to take the risk of attempting vbac. It’s a very personal choice though so look at pros and cons of both and listen to your gut!

I’m a first timer but I’m planning on vaginal birth with everything being well.
I would 100% prefer a planned c section than being induced or having an emergency though, everyone’s been telling me horror stories of their own births so I’m hoping I don’t need to go down that route 🥲.

I have 2 small children so don't want to be recovering from major surgery where ever I can help it so would always go for the natural birth.

I had a water birth with my first with only gas and air. Water broke at around 4pm I gave birth at 11:34pm and was out the next morning with no complications. Hope this helps! There’s a lot of people that have positive birth stories too🫶🏻

I had an induction and absolutely hated it. Back to back contractions for 6 hours, every 5 minutes until my waters broke and I could have an epidural and ended up in an emergency c section anyway! Which meant recovery was awful because i was so exhausted.

I always said to myself whatever happens with my next pregnancy, I refuse to be induced

that sounds awful! I was threatened with a c section as well I think because I was taking too long for their liking, I’m more scared the third time round in case I need induced again 🥴
