We love the name Isla but I’m not a fan of silent letters and keep thinking people will call her Is-La by mistake 🙈 Iv played around with a couple of other ways but intrigued to see what other people come up with 💜

Aisla? It is a very pretty name

Ayla? but I also think don't worry about other people. Lots will know exactly how to say it right

Yes I think that’s more Aay-la like you say. Also do you think it’s frustrating for little ones when they learning their how to spell their name that there’s a silent letter in there? 🙈😅 I’m prob thinking too much into it 🤣

I have no idea where that mouse emoji came from 🙈😂😂

I know 2 Islas. One spelt
Isla and i just knew it was Isla, the other Ayla and for ages i though she was as its spelt and was saying it wrong

Isla is the third most popular girl name in the UK so people will definitely know how to pronounce it. It is a lovely name 😊

I'm a teacher- loads of Islas around nowadays. Older people might get it wrong occasionally but she'll have no problems at school

Isla is pretty common now, one of my closest friends has an Isla and never known it to be pronounced another way than IY-LA

Now I feel Iv chosen a name that’s too common 😂 dammit oh well I love it too much!

I prefer the spelling Islay after the island but it has a silent Y and if you live in England a lot of people might not get it. I think Isla is nicer than Ayla just looks like you’re trying to be different.
Ailsa is pronounced ‘ail-sa’ not Islay, totally different name 😂

ila? X

Islay

Could be really different and go literal to how it sounds Eye-La
