I’m having my baby tomorrow

I have just found out that I am going to be induced tomorrow. After a rough pregnancy this is the best decision for us I will be 39 weeks and 5 days. Anyone got any tips or advice to make the process smoother.

No advice for making it smoother but bear in mind induction can take days so set realistic expectations for yourself and your loved ones. The last thing you need is people blowing up your phone asking if baby is here yet 😅

Agree with the above! I prepared to be in for about 5 days and packed like I was. I also said to family and friends that we’ll contact baby when he’s hear. Unexpectedly I had the pessary at 1pm and he was born at 7.30pm the same day. He was born very fast though so maybe not your typical induction! Good luck and you’ll be fine xxx

I got induced on a Monday and didn’t have her until the Thursday so take lots of things with you to keep you both entertained whilst waiting and also take snacks as we spent a bomb in the hospital shop! Xx

Set realistic expectations for when your baby will arrive, research all the different induction methods so you can make informed choices, take things that will occupy and relax you and make you comfortable. Pack an eye mask, ear plugs and cosy things to sleep in. Make sure you have headphones and a tablet / laptop, and pack snacks and drinks because the options can be limited when you are in hospital for food and drink. Good luck! X

Request gas and air for the insertion/removal of the pessary if you're going to have one. The midwife didn't tell me that was an option.

My only advice would be to take pain relief as early as you can. I know what it’s like to give birth without any pain relief as I did so with my first, but the pain I experienced with my second through being induced was on a whole other level. Whatever you decide, you will get through it regardless, but that would be my only piece of advice to you. Good luck! X

Changed due date

Anyone had their date change at 12 weeks scan?

I used my last period and also fully tracked ovulation, I had a due date Oct 10.

In my 12 week scan they said Oct 15

Now I don’t know which to use as I know the 12 week scan can place things wrong due to the tiniest millimetre off measurement

What did others go by and what was accurate?

Second baby here!

Birthday

So idk if this would be considered bd drama, but he just texted me “happy birthday” my birthday isn’t until April 20th, we’ve known each other since 2024. And I just feel a little sad that he doesn’t know my birthday. Should I appreciate that he tried? Or be upset that after all this time he still doesn’t know my birthday?

Damp pants.. can your waters go incredibly slowly lol

Or did I pee 😅

I woke up this morning with a damp patch in my undies that I noticed when I pulled my pants up after a wee.. I did smell it and it doesn’t smell like wee and I got my husband to smell (lol) and it didn’t smell like wee to him either but I’m also very hydrated...

I have sat over the toilet and nothing is dripping out of me so I think maybe I just lost a bit of wee over night or just before I noticed?

Help- Can contractions feel like pressure?

I have a painful pressure pain and crampy feeling in my lower back/lower abdomen and pelvic area. It woke me up from sleep and it's too painful to sleep with it. They're coming every 3-5 mins, I'm 40+5 weeks. Is this labour? I have no idea. They're getting more painful. I'm hydrated. Thanks xx

Cramps!

Omg! About to hit 30 weeks and my cramps are ramping up! I’ve never experienced leg cramps so bad in my life, it feels like my leg is going into a full on spasm / break down. I cried myself to sleep because it wouldn’t stop! I hate feeling such a drama queen but my gosh it’s crazy?! Anyone else suffering? Any tips other than bananas and leafy greens 🫶🏻😃
