Vagisil fast relief from itching, safe in pregnancy?

Super embarrassing, but I’ve got an infection of some sort down below and all of a sudden I’ve got intense itching around my vulva like crazy. I’ve never had this before, need fast relief until I see my GP, but is vagisil okay in this instance? I’ve googled and it does say it’s all fine when pregnant but just wanted to make sure. Just waiting for doc to give me a call in the week

I asked and was told Canestan cream was fine and the pessary is fine (as long as you insert with fingers and not the applicator). The internet warns against the oral tablet though.
I don't know if Canestan is the same stuff as Vagisil.
A pharmacist should be able to tell you, or maybe a triage midwife. Saves you waiting.

I had the pessary and cream when pregnant with my first and it was fine. Always best to check with Doctor though to make sure you are treating the right thing. Would definitely recommend probiotics too, they can help stop any reoccurrence.

curious about this - do you know why it’s recommended to insert with fingers instead of applicator?

Midwife says using the fingers reduces the risk of getting too close to the cervix.

I've used it and was fine. It really helped!

I had the same issue used the pessary it made a big difference but I feel like it’s come back again

probiotics really make a difference, I haven’t had any thing since taking them 9 months ago, and before then it was constantly reoccurring. https://www.purermama.co.uk/products/the-probiotic-capsule

First Midwife Appointment

I had my first midwife appointment yesterday, I've been left full of worry is this normal?

She came to my house, she was so lovely I do feel lucky to have such a good midwife. The meeting was about an hour and a half.

There was so much information to take in I was very overwhelmed!
She went through all the scans testing etc, I never knew there could be so much 'wrong' with a baby. I have now booked an early scan I am freaking out.

I've been googling statistics all morning

Pressure down there?

Hi recently I've noticed when I'm walking I feel pressure 'down there' specifically my urethra, feels like I need to empty my bladder but I don't. Is this just baby's position? It's so uncomfortable

What if I don’t want an induction?

Hi everyone, I’m 39+1 weeks, my next midwife appt is on my due date which I am happy about however hope I go into labour before then. I have had slight twinges and small pains, however nothing has happened yet and I am gutted as I really don’t want any type of induction. Say I get to 41+ weeks, and I don’t want any type of induction, what happens then? This might be a very silly question but my midwife isn’t helpful and would rather hear from others as opposed to doctor Google. Thanksss! X

How many people can stay in hospital

Hi all, do you know how many people can stay with you in the hospital after your delivery in the recovery room? Mine is a planned C-section at Homerton. Do they allow more than 1?
