Post Birth - soothing bits for down there!!

I have been looking at all the different bits you can buy to make things more comfortable post birth. I’m struggling to decide whether to buy those instant cold perineal pads or whether to just buy some cheap ones and line them with aloe Vera etc and pop in the freezer. What is everyone else doing? Recommendations appreciated!

I used the my expert midwife spritz for bits and found it really good but never tried the aloe Vera like you suggested. The only thing is the spray is good for hospital use - the pads from the freezer could be used at home?! I also got the soak your bits from the expert midwife for when I was home to use in the bath and found that helped too x

I bought the witch hazel foam that apparently is indicated for post birth recovery 🤷🏻‍♀️

I did pads in the freezer last time and didn’t find they helped that much. You’ll be bleeding a lot so a frozen pad doesn’t quite feel right? Also you have to be careful not to put ice directly on your bits and get an ice burn! I used the spritz by my expert midwife, and I used a peri bottle to spray/wash when I went to the loo and also the sitz bath with witch hazel and Epsom salts https://www.whattoexpect.com/first-year/postpartum-health-and-care/sitz-bath-postpartum/

I bought spritz for bits and didn't actually use it last time. My friend swore by it. I just used a jug and water to poor over me but to be honest, I was in such a daze I think I just didn't really think about it. I did keep topped up with Paracetamol and used one of those hemerpid cushions to sit on which was really comfy and meant I wasn't putting too much pressure on anything when sitting! I did have a 3rd degree tear so I think the cushion was a bit of a lifesaver xx

I've gone to town on the downstairs recovery stuff. 😆 for downstairs and nipples 🙈

I've bought the Spritz for Bits - been recommended by loads of people.

I've also got the frida cooling pads, cooling wipes and witch hazel foam (that can be put on pads/ disposable underwear). However, i may also make some homemade pads up with aloe vera/witch hazel on when I go on maternity as backup in the freezer! I think you can never over organise yourself for pain relief 😀

Spritz for bits definitely, started off spraying it on a pad but eventually realised spraying it straight on was the best thing to do! 😂
I also got a peri bottle. You won’t like the idea of wiping down there for a wee while, so filling that with cool water and cleaning after a pee is lovely and refreshing! Genuinely one of my best buys last time!

(6 Day Old Baby girl)

My baby girl doesn’t seem to wake up herself for any feeds, if I don’t wake her she will just sleep all day which is concerning to me. I have brought it up with community midwife who I saw on Saturday they did the checks and said baby is healthy and doing well. She has little bit of jaundice but midwife said that will go away on its own and that the more she feeds the quicker it will go. I’m a first time mum so please be kind and understanding. But I’m worried my daughter, has anyone else experienced this and what do I do?

Who does the nighttime wake ups?

Very curious how others deal with this in their families. Much respect to all the single mums or mums who dont get proper help. I have always done it 100% on my own and am sick to death of it. Been told men just like dont wake up to cries. Yeah I get that but not a single time in a last year, surely im not crazy to think thats not right?

My 4 month old is growing 4 teeth, I’m worried she will bite my nipples off, has this happened to any of you breastfeeding mums?

She’s exclusively breastfed and it feels like it’s too soon to introduce her to solids and take the boob away. Are there any other options for me and my girl?

Being naked infront of toddler

Ladies, when should I stop being fully naked infront of my little boy? He’s 14
Months. Since he’s been a baby, he’s watched me shower, watched me go to the loo, I sleep naked etc. When should this stop? Is it harmful that he sees me in the shower, on the toilet, naked on bed etc?

Nursery and formula

My son is only going to nursery for two days so I don’t want to give the whole formula tub back and forth.
What can I empty some formula in for they to keep for two days?
