Anyone had success after one sweep?

How was it. Was it painful?

With my first , the sweep did work for me to start it off - but quite slowly in my particular case. I had the sweep on the Thursday, had pains on and off over the weekend and my baby was born on the Monday xx

@Sthefany Hand on heart it was a bit odd, but not painful at all. I went in as relaxed as I could be and I think that helped a lot. I know everyone is different but I think that is the best advice as if you tense up it'll only make it more difficult (easier said than done I know with someone going up there lol) x

@Rhiann ah thank you. Fingers crossed then, midwife said I can encourage it with sex and ball bouncing/clary sage/all the old wives tales lol so will be onto that this afternoon 🤣 xx

I've had two sweeps and nothing really yet, it has moved things on a little bit but I have another booked for tomorrow before I'm booked in for induction on Sunday if not 🥺 x

I had one on Tuesday (39 weeks and 2 days) and was 2cm dilated and very soft she said it would work within 24 hours but I’ve still not have any sort of sign! X

@Eleanor I had my sweep at 40+5 and then I had my daughter at 41+2. I was also told at my 40+5 that I was 1cm dilated x

Had sweep yesterday, lost my plug last night but so far nothing else has happened xx

@Amy exact same as me 🥺❤️ had my second sweep yesterday, third sweep Friday then if that fails induction Sunday! Which I’d really rather not but just need my baby boy here now. I’m so much agony 😭 wishing you so much luck cxx

I must be a massive baby because I actually cried 😫 just had my first sweep and my cervix was at the back? She said she moved it to the front and stretched me from 1 to 2cm, I think it was just overwhelming I didn’t expect it to be so uncomfortable

With my second I had 3 sweeps over 2 weeks she came 9 days after due date but 2 days after last sweep. With my 3rd I had a sweep at 10am I started contracting by 11am and had her at 10.30pm and that was on her due date. Currently 38 weeks with no.4

@Abbie ah you're not a baby! Everyone is different, maybe mine was a bit more straight forward as my cervix was soft and forward already. Hope it works for us xx

Thank you ladies! Good to get an idea of potential outcomes. Done all the things midwife recommended to help it work now, including some not very romantic 1 on 1 time with the husband so let's see if this helps baby along 🤣

This is exactly what mine said yesterday & I was wondering the exact same!! Literally any pain/movement now I’m like ‘is this is?!’ 😂😂😂 x

I had one today at 37+3 and i was already 4cm which i can't believe! While having the sweeps she was saying i was contracting but i honestly couldn't feel anything, straight afterwards i started contracting but nothing major but she said my waters was bulging so im literally waiting on them to go, got another booked for tuesday if i make it that far!🤣

Update for anyone curious: had mild cramps yesterday evening and felt a lot more pressure down below last night. This morning lost my plug and cramps are getting a bit stronger but still not regular contractions. Hopefully this is the warm up! X

@Eleanor I am the same today. Thought i'd lost all my plug before but had a bit of a bloody one today with cramps but nothing serious definitely feeling a bit more sore down there today though and for some reason my urine has started to smell weird like a bit sweet!

@Nai same here he just needs to come out now! We've still got the next couple of days so fingers crossed 🙈🤞 xx

@Amy thank you, good luck with yours! Hope you manage to go into labour ahead of induction as you'd like but try not to stress as I know plenty of people who have had smooth inductions and at least you'll know when you're going in and that from that point it won't be long until baby is here rather than the constant unknown! X

@Eleanor I’ve had contractions since 10pm last night slowly getting stronger and closer together 🙏🏽❤️
