I’ve had 3 sections. First two were traumatic emergencies that still make me cry when I think of them. But my third one was planned and it was BEAUTIFUL. I had completely given up on positive birth experiences until that day. It was peaceful, calm, joyful - and the recovery was 10000% easier than the first two. I would do it again a hundred times.
Don’t be scared 💕

I have csections with my first two kids. It was great. My first came on the schedule date. Went great was born in 22 minutes. The only thing that was painful was them pushing on my stomach afterwards it hurts so bad. My second had a scheduled C-section with him as well, but he decided to break my water 3 weeks early. But everything went smoothly. He was born in 14 minutes. It was definitely easier with my second than my first cause I knew what to expect. And with my first my husband was sick so he couldn’t stay with me when we had our oldest. But he stayed with me until the second to last day with my youngest and then went home with our oldest. All my C-section are planned due to my kids being breech until I have them and due to the shape of my uterus. So with my daughter I’m pregnant with now I will most likely have a C-section with her as well unless somehow magically she decides to be head down. The only downside is she is due around the time it’s my seconds birthday.

I had an emergency c section but it wasn’t a terrible experience the worst part is the epidural into the back but that’s also a personal preference with me I hate needles 😂 after that everything just goes numb and warm and honestly time flies by once baby is out. I was in there for about an hour but it felt like 5 minutes

Had my elective c-section on 5th March. It was the most positive experience, I would gladly do it all over again.

Do you need to have a medical reason to choose a C-section or can anyone have one?

First pregnancy I decided to have a planned C section, it was such an amazing experience and the best decision I could have made.
It wasn’t rushed, I walked to the theatre, the epidural took some time but the only uncomfortable part about it was having to lean so far forward with such a big bump in the way, other than that I didn’t really feel much. The anaesthetist played music on his iPhone for me as I forgot mine, chatted to me and made sure I felt okay, the surgeons were discussing some plans they had for that evening that actually made me feel so much more at ease knowing that they were relaxed. Then once my little boy was born I got to hold him almost immediately, some of the nurses took some lovely pictures and I recovered really quickly too.
I did have a moment when my blood pressure dropped and I suddenly felt sick, the anaesthetist was so good, he noticed this immediately and gave me something to bring it back up.
Honestly couldn’t hope for a better experience! 🩵🩵

i had a planned c section and it was the best!!! such a beautiful experience and so much more calm than i ever expected 🫶🏼 took more time stitching me up than it did to meet my daughter 😂💗 some people say they feel pressure which i was nervous about but i genuinely didn’t feel a thing xx

I had my c section almost a week ago! It was planned and then turned into a cat 3 so a little more rushed but not emergency. It was the best experience. So calm and the team do everything to make you feel at ease. I’d been in the theatre maybe 15 mins before I had my baby in my arms 💓 I’m almost a week into recovery, still a little bit sore and bruised but have been into town this morning for coffee and a small stroll and feeling pretty good 😊 hope you have a great experience, I’m sure you will x

Emergency scan

Hi! I went to triage on Saturday night for reduced movement as I hadn’t felt baby all day. I was checked over with Doppler etc and sent on my way - midwife said everything was great.

I’ve just been called by the hospital that I’m booked in for an emergency scan and it’s just taken me by surprise. Has anyone else experienced this?

Birth plan

Debating between natural birth vs C section.
Labour lengths, recovery times afterwards, control involved in a c section, pregnancy again after c sections.. give me your experiences/opinions. 😊
(Also, if the hospital was 1.5 hours away would that affect your decision)

Baby is nearly here and still haven’t decided on a name…
Please help!

Here are our options

Evelyn
Summer - baby will not be born in this season ( does it matter though? It’s a name not a time stamp)
Halle
Clodagh ( Irish Cloda)

Would love to hear what your favourite name is out of those

Early labour?

Im really unsure if what I’m having is the start of labour or just digestive pains? I’ve been getting sharp/crampy pains across my abdomen and back which come and go every 10/15 mins, not really typical period like pains yet but they are very noticeable. I feel like it’s been getting more painful since this morning, but at the same time I’m having diarrhoea and nausea. The only difference I’ve noticed is the pain is not going away after going to the toilet or position changes. I’m going to call triage but I thought to wait and see a few more hours. BTW I’m 37 weeks
