Delivering at Cedar Sinai

I’m curious from those who have given birth at Cedar Sinai - what do you actually need to pack in your hospital bag? I have read all sorts of pack lists online and I wonder.. do you really need all that?? Some sound like you’re packing enough for a month. Some lists say “you might need xyz or the hospital might provide it”. So I’m curious and want advice from those who’ve actually delivered there.. what do you actually need to pack?

Curious about this too!! Also anyone aware if you have to wear a mask during delivery at Cedars?

I think the mask requirement ended a month or so ago but not 100% sure

I gave birth there last week so happy to answer any specifics! There are signs up in the suites to say remain masked but I ended up not wearing one once in the delivery suite. And no one told me to put it back in. They just enforce it when travelling between rooms. They provide everything you could need for your perineal area post birth - underwear , pads, witch hazel soaked pads, squirts water bottle etc. anything else let me know :)

@Ashley ooo I have this list and I’m guessing a lot is overkill, can I send to you for opinions?

If you can avoid delivering there do it. I just delivered there and had the worst experience of my life and am in a law suit

@Randi sorry Randi just seen this! Yes send over and I’ll look at it when I can :)

This is a question I also have … @Ashley thanks for the info. @Randi can you also share your list with me. I have a long list that seems unreasonable

@Nina im sorry to hear that you had a bad experience… so you mind sharing your story? What went wrong? Hope you are recovering well and your baby is also in good health. Who was your doctor? Many also telling me to avoid this hospital but it’s too late now in my arrangements.

@Samira of course. Just messaged you

Recommend bringing your own delivery gown — you’ll feel more comfortable in something soft. Outside of the personal care products that you’ll need post delivery, a couple pairs of warm socks, slippers, hair ties, a wide soft headband, and your own pillow is clutch. If your partner is staying with you, they will want their own pillow and blanket. And if you don’t have a doula bringing them, some soft lighting (like those battery powered candles), a Bluetooth speaker to play music, and even some of your favorite essential oils will help improve the experience. I was in the delivery room for 36 hours before my son finally decided to show up, so small comforting things made a big difference. Best of luck to you!
