Hi.
I am with care fertility.
I have not gone for this option as I have tried with out going for extras first to save money.
I have had 3 embryo transfer and 2 ended in miscarriage and because of this I have decided to get more testing.
My recommendation is while it’s your first round don’t spend money of extras as you my not need them and you may fall pregnant first or second time. Also when you go through it you will understand more about what ms need and what’s not.
My best advice is to ask as many questions as you can even if you think there stupid because no question is and not to spend money of extras just yet. x

We are with care and we chose their payment plan which includes Caremap. Our experience is good as they have their own algorithm to tell you a score out of 10 in terms of live birth chance. We found that the traditional grading is not as predictable (which we got in our NHS cycle elsewhere) and actually our caremap top ranked one is the sticky one 🤞

I think it really depends on how many embryos you have. If you only get 1-2 there’s no much point paying for this which simply helps with embryo selection.

Hi Wanyu. We paid for caremaps. What was your grading? Did you get a 10? We got a 7 but hoping that’s still good.

I liked the idea they don’t get disturbed by using caremaps and they can tell from their journey which eggs look the best quality as they have seen them divide stage by stage and they can see how much fragmentation etc comes from each one

Yes we have had 6 embryos in 2 cycles and they range from 4 to 10. There were 3 ranked below 6 and these resulted in failed transfers or chemical pregnancy, and our 2 pregnancies were 8 and 10. And there is still one 9 in the freezer. 7 is definitely very good!

They also tell you the % of each grade in terms of the probability of a live birth. Good luck with your transfer!

Thank you that’s helpful we never got a percentage. What was the percentage of your 8 just out of curiosity? We have a 5 that they froze so not feeling very hopeful for that transfer now!!

I don’t quite remember as it was just an informal chat with the embryologist before transfer. Anyway numbers do not matter that much I think, as there are so many success stories with high or low ranked embryos!! Just stay positive xx

Thanks Wanyu x

Hey, won’t be using it until next week so can’t give you more info I’m afraid.

We’re going for it this time, will drop it for future cycles (if we need them) if it’s not worth it but I just need piece of mind that I’ve done what I can do. There is a Facebook group called IVF support UK that has a lot more info on people’s experiences and again it’s mixed as to whether it’s worth it and a bit conflicted.

After a lot of debate we have landed on the fact that Care really rate it, they wouldn’t have put so much research in if it didn’t help, and hopefully it might save us the pain of losses if they implant the best one first time. We just have to accept that if we don’t get embryos it’s a waste of money but it might tell us a bit more as to what stage they stop developing which may help us for future cycles. And I’d rather regret spending the money than not doing Caremaps and wishing I had.

It’s a minefield I’m sorry I can’t help more!

Hi ladies. I just wanted to say I have just used caremaps. I was on an NHS round and I paid the extra for care maps. For me it was worth every Penny even though we only had few embryos. We ended up with 3 by day 3 and 2 that made it to day 5 blasts. Caremaps labelled one of our eggs a 5 and one a 7 so they put the best one back in and I’m currently 7weeks pregnant. I’m 35 so she isn’t on our side and I feel like caremaps certainly helps then find the best out of the bunch 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I'm so not meant to be a mother.

My kids won't listen to me get into stuff when they know they aren't supposed to. Telling me no all the time. Only listen to their dad. Laughs when I correct them. I spend most of my time yelling at them because they don't want to listen to me at all. My husband said that I shouldn't have kids. And I am believing him on it. I was never meant to be a mother now. I won't hurt my kids I just want to disappear and make everyone else's lives better without me.

One and done… or not?

32ftm. I’m starting to feel so much pressure to have another baby soon as I wean from breastfeeding so they can be close in age and be friends, but I don’t feel ready for pregnancy and newborn trenches again 😭 my husband and I are all we’ve got. Having just one baby without a village has been really tough. Am I being unrealistic wanting another one soon?

Tests

So I had a blood test at the drs bc I keep getting positive tests when the blood test was negative what could this mean? Hubby says the tests are negative and said he can’t see anything. Negative image down below.

Am I pregnant?

I lightly spotted almost 5 days ago, which is not common for me before my period.
My period was supposed to come today. I should have tested in the morning but its 5:30pm.
Is there a second line??
