Good hope or heartlands Birmingham?

Hey ladies
I'm currently pregnant with baby number 2 and have only moved to birmingham within the last year so my first child was born in a hospital in leicester which is my home town
I'm swaying more towards good hope hospital as the maternity unit was renovated in the last few years however I'm looking for everyone's experiences and recommendations on which hospital please
Thank you

good hope is amazing , I chose this hospital and they have treated me so good so far and always go out their way and make time for you, I also had a recent experience with heartlands before this and it was awful so I’d defo recommend good hope

I haven’t given birth yet but everyone I speak to has recommended good hope over heartlands, even my midwives so I’ve opted for good hope. Apparently the new maternity unit is lovely x

Could also consider Birmingham women’s hospital. They are ace! Had my little girl there and was an amazing experience x

I gave birth at good hope last month and they were fantastic.
I unfortunately wasn't able to use the midwife led unit and so gave birth on the delivery ward instead but they were amazing and accommodated me playing music and having essential oils during my birth x

I gave birth in the midwife unit at Good Hope in December and had an amazing experience x

My birth was at Good hope and it wasn’t the best delivery but I couldn’t fault the amazing midwives and doctors x

I’ve given birth at heartland and good hope and would say good hope all day!!

good hope over heartlands anyday!! it feels more homely and the staff are sm more nicer they seem like they actually care whereas heartlands they just seem like theyre just there for the money

I have had all 3 babies at good Hope and have no complaints ❤️

Wouldn’t recommend heartlands as my sister gave birth there 2 days ago. Staff including midwife’s are horrible and the place itself is falling apart! Awful experience for her!

I gave birth at heartlands last week as a FTM and even though I ended up having an emergency section the midwives and doctors were absolutely amazing supported me through the induction, labour, surgery and the recovery.

I gave birth at Heartlands in January. The midwives were very good, took care of me and LO very well. They knew what they were doing. A few issues with understaffing but that’s most NHS hospitals anyway.

I gave birth to all 3 of my children at heartlands and I had fantastic care throughout even with my last child who was born in the first covid lockdown x

Good hope. I saw my midwife the other day and she said heartlands are renovating the maternity wing atm so it wouldn’t be very comfortable

Avatar

the renovations are were the ultrasounds used to take place

I was at good hope a week ago with my first and they were phenomenal!!!

Gave birth in March at heartlands had a great experience, induction and had to stay for 6 days after birth

I gave birth at heartlands, best experience best midwives. I was induced and my midwife moved me to my own room so my husband could stay with me instead of being on the induction ward. Only negative I would say is the labour suites are small! Xx

First Midwife Appointment

I had my first midwife appointment yesterday, I've been left full of worry is this normal?

She came to my house, she was so lovely I do feel lucky to have such a good midwife. The meeting was about an hour and a half.

There was so much information to take in I was very overwhelmed!
She went through all the scans testing etc, I never knew there could be so much 'wrong' with a baby. I have now booked an early scan I am freaking out.

I've been googling statistics all morning

Pressure down there?

Hi recently I've noticed when I'm walking I feel pressure 'down there' specifically my urethra, feels like I need to empty my bladder but I don't. Is this just baby's position? It's so uncomfortable

What if I don’t want an induction?

Hi everyone, I’m 39+1 weeks, my next midwife appt is on my due date which I am happy about however hope I go into labour before then. I have had slight twinges and small pains, however nothing has happened yet and I am gutted as I really don’t want any type of induction. Say I get to 41+ weeks, and I don’t want any type of induction, what happens then? This might be a very silly question but my midwife isn’t helpful and would rather hear from others as opposed to doctor Google. Thanksss! X

How many people can stay in hospital

Hi all, do you know how many people can stay with you in the hospital after your delivery in the recovery room? Mine is a planned C-section at Homerton. Do they allow more than 1?
