Nuby Rapid Cool Advice

I'm trying to find an easier way to do night feeds and feeds going out and thinking of getting a rapid cool. They have a deal on at the moment where you can get the uv sterilizer too. For those of you who use it do you use the uv sterlizer or do you have another way to sterilize it. I currently have tommy tippee bottles and steamer, don't think I can use that though. There is also the option of the Tommy tippee Go Prep but I wouldn't know how to sterilize that.

If you want to make night feeds easier I would honestly get a tommee tippee prep machine. I know some people don't like them but I used it and I know quite a few other parents who do and I personally haven't found anyone who had problems.

I was just thinking it would be easier to have the rapid cool and flask ready to go upstairs and make the bottle up there you see.

We use the rapid cool. I'll put some boiling water in a flask so don't have to wait for kettle. Then make up bottle overnight using the flask and rapid cool. I never put formula in the rapid cool so it only ever gets boiling water and then doesn't need sterilising.
Prep machine for me isn't hot enough - during the day I use it but have to do extra hot shots so avoid it overnight x

I love the rapid cool and also use a flask

I have a nuby rapid cool which is brilliant for feeds on the go. I also use a Tommy tippee prep machine in the house which is super handy. To sterilise the nuby I use cold water sterilisation with a milton bucket and tablets. I sterilise everything this way. The nuby rapid cool tells you on it what ways it can be sterilise but I can’t remember off the top of my head. I’m sure that information is available online. I think UV sterilisation was ok but not 100% from memory.

I'd recommend the tommee tippee prep machine for at home, it makes life so much easier. I used the rapid cool when I'm out x

i use the rapid cool when i go out but i don’t put formula in which saves me from sterilising it. at home we have the tommee tippee prep machine.

for the nuby i measure out the water (from the kettle) in her bottle, leave a hot shot which i measure out in the cap and then pour the remaining water in the nuby.

i will then use the hot shot to mix with the formula in her bottle

I have two rapid cools and use then for every feed. They’re fab for night feeds. I take a flask of boiling water to and it keeps water hot all night.
I only do one night feed but sometimes she feeds just before bed and the first thing in the morning so then I’ve got two sterile ninja for both feeds.
I sterilise mine worn a Milton cold water steriliser. They’re first cheap and so easy, never bothered with UV.
Everyone told me to get a prep machine but there are too many issues with them for my liking.

Feeling really disconnected from my husband…

We have a 3 year old son. When our son was a newborn my husband prioritized my MILS feelings (was afraid to be honest with her and hurt her feelings). I was recovering from a C section and she was at our house uninvited when we brought our son home. He knew she was there but didn’t call her and tell her to leave. She knew I didn’t want her there when I brought the baby home.
We invited my MIL to meet the baby in the hospital- she did. The only thing that went wrong was she told us she didn’t like the name we chose for him. Also told me not to feed our baby formula because “it’s poison”. My MIL has always been bossy- controlling, uses a lot of guilt and shame to control things. She’s tried to control how we manage finances, where we live, and now how we raise our son.
Basically since my husband didn’t prioritize my feelings as the new mother - and didn’t put us first- I’ve felt unattracted to him. I view my husband like a he’s man child. He has finally realized how difficult his mother can be. But I just have felt so unsupported by my husband and part of me just wants to get away from him. I want our relationship to work but the connection and attraction seems to have vanished. I have a fantasy of meeting a man that’s mature, emotionally intelligent, that I feel taken care of. Just venting and advice welcomed…

Do you take your kids/toddler (not an infant) out (park, grocery store etc.) in pajamas?

Breastfeeding Mums - what are you doing at night?

As our babies are starting to sleep longer stretches, I wanted to ask for those breastfeeding how they deal with their milk. I find even if I am still feeding 2 or even 3 times in the night, the time in between is still longer than in the day so I often find I wake up having leaked through my breast pad, bra and top.

The most obvious thing to me would be to pump, but the nice thing about baby sleeping longer is I thought I would be able to sleep longer too! And I know if I get up to pump (having to sit upright, noise of the pump, sorting the milk after etc) that I would have trouble getting back to sleep. Not to mention it would probably wake my husband up too. Curious how others have dealt with this. Are we just accepting being leaky everywhere? 😂

5am vent

It’s 5am, my baby is just bringing back up all the milk I’m feeding him 😖 I’m soaked, he’s soaked, the bed is soaked. He’s wide awake just staring at me like ‘what now?’ Husband snoring peacefully next to us, of course.
I feel like I need my mum to come clean us both up and tuck us in.
