Single mom. Stressing. Any advice is appreciated.

I'm 35w3d and struggling to get things for baby since I'm off work on bedrest for high risk pregnancy. I had enough saved for my bills and a crib and some things but I still don't have a carseat or diapers and wipes. Anyone have any ideas on places that would help me get these items for free ot cheap?

If you have Medicaid I know some states can help you get a car seat and some will send you diapers for free. Maybe your local health department could help too?

@Alyssa unfortunately I do not have medicaid cause I still have insurance through my job, what exactly do you mean by local health department?

search your area for diapers/wipes banks. As for free/cheap items, I would say try Facebook groups.

Definitely grab a car seat off of FB marketplace. There are so many moms on there selling baby gear super cheap.

I would also join a Buy Nothing group on fb for your area! People are always giving away baby supplies for free :)

Check and see if there’s a Facebook group in your area for moms or garage sales. I’m in a group called Novato Mamas Helping Mamas and women are always giving away stuff for free when their babies grow out of their baby stuff! I was even able to trade baby swings with this one girl. Lol I got a half off new crib, a free dresser and changing table, a free bassinet. Highly recommend!

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.

Bedtime routine

I have a 12 week old and we struggle to get him to sleep in his next to me crib or Moses basket, so he sleeps in bed with us which means we’re struggling to have a bedtime routine as he won’t sleep till i go to bed with him.
Any suggestions please as he doesn’t sleep till around 11/12
