3 week old baby

One tired mam she’s been up every hour absolutely screaming and kicking her legs around, tried feeding and she just aggressively latches clamps down and then screams and the usual bouncing her up and down isn’t settling her it’s definitely an in pain cry, tried infacol that sometimes soothes her slightly
Every feed she’s screamed after and even vomited some of her feed back up which also isn’t like her at all, I’m wondering if it’s something I’m eating that’s disagreeing with her
What are the main things to avoid? It’s been draining tonight😫

Is she like it all the time ? My baby has been like this and would always be after I had anything like milkshake cereal cheese now we’re trying to work out if he has a milk allergy might not be the same but just a thought x

I had this and midwife said it may be the lactose in dairy that the baby is struggling to break down, so not an intolerance/allergy. She said it was important to get calcium for myself and breastfeeding and to try co-lactace drops.

often daily, i funny enough did wonder about dairy as it seemed to be awful on a day I had dairy but yesterday I didn’t have dairy but she was still very upset all last night I had around an hour sleep all night x

My baby girl has been the same extremely uncomfortable especially at night.. she developed a rash and doctor said she has cows milk protein allergy (not Lactose)
I have cut all dairy from my diet as she is BF and the rash improved.. you can also be prescribed special milk formula.
She also has reflux and has been given medication for as this makes her unsettled too.
I think you should speak to you doctor, hope you get her more settled and some more rest yourself x

dairy can take a week or two to leave your system so it could still be. My boy is formula fed but this is how he was on dairy, legs flailing as his little tummy was just so sore bleed him! Worth an experiment to see if it helps, and second the co lactose drops

Yes like Katherine said unfortunately it can take a couple of weeks for us to get the dairy out of our systems :( I’m on day five of no dairy and have seen an improvement but he’s no where near symptom free xx

Sounds a bit like silent reflux?

Onions and garlic for me, and red peppers! I’ve noticed he’s crying in pain after I eat these more than other foods x

I would say either
Colic
Reflux
Or milk allergy

People 2ill jump straight to milk allergy but that's not always the case

Just here to say, she is absolutely beautiful!xx

My little girl is 9 weeks and she was like how you are describing your baby. I was really worried she also struggled pooing as well and would go weeks. I thought she had an allergy to something I was eating or was lactose intolerant. It turns out she had severe colic. The GP prescribed baby gaviscon and it works very well. Maybe see if this helps. X

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.
