I have been struggling to produce also because I have twins. Everyone recommends drinking lots and lots of water. I do notice a difference in my supply when I do. But that’s all I’ve ever really been recommendedthat I know works.

Watermelon, oatmeal, and staying hydrated with milk, water, and naturally homemade juices really help me with this time around as last I did not produce well.

Along with what everyone else is recommending, body armors, pink drinks, coconut milk, lactation cookies, and lactation supplements! I got liquid gold supplements from my Walmart and I noticed a huge difference when I started taking them but you have to stay very hydrated

There's a few different ones but this is amazing it taste like chocolate milk

Also I've introduce only 10 Mls of formula when I need to pump to tide him over. I breastfeed and supplement bottle feel. Interchanging back and forth has also helped to allow my body to produce more. Like today he is 6 days old and I haven't had to supplement any formula at all. I only use formula as a supplement bc if I can produce well later on like I am now then he won't have to switch fully to formula and will be able breast feed more exclusively. I also freeze what ever I pump whether it's 2oz or 4oz every ounce helps just put date and Oz on baggy a stick in freezer. All of these things have helped me.

Also something no one told me the first time around that they did this time is that the baby is not going to need a full 4 Oz at a time most will be 1 to 2 Oz at a time and that is why they need to have frequent feedings bc they need to let their little tummies stretch out bit by bit and that once they reach 1 month they will drink the same amount from month 1 to 6 months

I say all of this to say please be patient with yourself

Why do you think you’re not producing enough milk?

Are you latching or pumping? Because if latching, are you hearing the gulping?

Are you removing the bottles, pacifiers, and anything that goes in their mouth? At this age the nipple should only go in their mouth. If you do this, this puts you around 10-20 times in a 24 hour period of removing milk (infants has 2 suckles whereas one is weak, however both stimulates)

Are you getting up at night to feed whether they’re up or not (this is a full time, round o clock job)

If pumping are you covering them and pumping nights and mornings?

Are you feeding at nap times?

Are you eating the best meals you can get? Vitamin C, b vitamins, fatty foods like fish, moringa, quinoa porridge, animal organs, eggs, blue vervain herb, red raspberry leaf herb, coconut, lots and lots of greens and sea weed (Asian specialty) are going to be your friends.

It can get overwhelming if you have a unite PLEASE use them bc this is a JOB and you want to

You want to have energy to worry. When you have energy to worry, you can spot the flaws and correct without stressing —stressing can cause a dip in that supply.

You also need to be knowledge that the weight or amount of milk does not determine how much your child is getting. Meaning the composition vary and different from formula— because milk is fast digesting, they’re going to naturally eat more. Don’t trip when they are hungry every 10 to 30 minutes then a hour, this is a natural instinct to help your supply. Don’t skip those moments. If you pump mimic what your baby is doing so your body will know.

All this lactation stuff— I’m being blunt but I hope this reads off 100% respectful— IT AINT HEALTHY. Now I know some of you may roll them eyes, I get it (I don’t eat “healthy” all the time either)

But as someone breastfeeding a nearly 3 year old. Most of these brands are filled with sugar with ingredients that influences the hormones! It neglects the nutrients your child is taking out daily!

I’m speaking from passion bc not only me but my bones, teeth, brain, eyes etc all that was extremely affected at one point when I was relying on the snacks. You want Whole Foods and you want them nutrient dense so your body can use those nutrients to produce the hormones naturally, not take them.

If you must use alongside, sure but don’t RELY on it IF you don’t have to. That is all.

Thank you so much! Seriously! Half of this I didn’t even think about.

Dates, apricot, steel cut oats, electrolytes, greens, beans, almonds, strawberries, flax seed, figs, brown rice and brewers yeast pills from amazon or vitamin store

Oat milk (I like oat milk creamer), body armor or liquid iv in your water. Eat enough calories, drink more water. Also remember it takes time. You may not be low on supply. Pumping is not an indicator of supply. Baby gets way more out than a pump.

Not drinking

I’m going crazy. Baby born at 2.26kg. Slow to put on weight. This last week hasn’t put on any. Been trying to feed him at night and he’s not interested at all. Fast asleep. During day he will have 5 minute gulps and that’s it. He don’t cry for milk. I’ve got to keep offering to him. I try to offer it every hour but I don’t know what I’m doing. HV said nutrition comes after 5 minutes so I should pump first and then give him. I find it so hard. I tried to pump one boob nothing came. The other abit came. Tried giving him express he’s not interested in that too. Sometimes he will go for a longer a feed but not long at all. He’s 4 months and is currently 5.46kg. I have no family or friend support here and wish I had a cook, cleaner and nanny to help with everything so I can concentrate on the little one. I don’t know what’s wrong with him but I’m loosing it. It doesn’t help that my also stressed generally about my relationship and life circumstances. Any advice that will work. Any comfort you can give. I’m fed up. Is this regression - not feeding. He’s fast fast asleep. I’ve been trying to push the nipple in but that mouth is closed shut. I took some clothes off. Changed his nappy but he’s still asleep. Please help

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
